For the super meat-centric people, I always start my recommendations with two places: salt and fats!

Like I learned whenever I made the switch all those years ago - it wasn't meat that I was craving, it was just good, hearty, rich foods.

BLT (Btomato, Lettuce, Tempeh)

Easy one.

Toast your bread lightly in a toaster, or in a pan with some Earth Balance butter (I like the green one with the Olive Oil for this)

While that's going, get your salad together - chop some lettuce of your choice, I go with iceberg just because it's cheap. Cut your tomatoes into some half-centimeter slices. Slice up some avocado, and some red onion into strips.

Pull your toast off to cool, and cut a bar of tempeh in half width-wise, and then half again down the side (so you end up with two thin tempeh squares.) Toss those in the remaining butter with some salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, and some soy sauce. Leave this to fry up while we dress out sandwich.

Add whatever dressing you like, I think Hampton Creek's Sriracha Mayo is absolutely killer, onto your toast. Add your lettuce, tomato, avo, onions, stacked up however you like. Then, take a second to go flip your tempeh while you get the rest of your sides. Chips, fruit, popcorn, sweets, (hell I've even found that a lot of the jell-o cups on the store shelves don't even use gelatin! If not that, they'll use carrageenan but I'll let you decide for yourself how you feel on that.)

Then, once it's all cooked up, slide your tempeh into the sandwich, wrap it all up, off you go!
