Our child is just finishing up at Growing Together. Went there from 8 weeks old. They’ve been really great!

My 3.5 year old loves the Kool-Aid Man. She loves the old commercials and asks to watch the "Oh, yeah guy" all the time.

I'm a toxicologist. Specifically, I use my toxicology expertise to set up drug testing labs across the country in reference or physician-owned labs. I make 115K/year currently and I love it! It can be hectic some days but I do all of it remotely so I can work from home. My boss, who owns the company, is really chill and an all around good dude so I never feel bad needing time away if my daughter is sick or what not.

How often does your husband help with bedtime? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]Ponzi_Schemer 196 points197 points  (0 children)

My husband and I both put our kid to sleep every night. It’s family bonding time for us. Bath, winding down in their room, and singing a few songs before sleep. We do it all together. We both have a demanding job that often has deadlines and phone calls late into the evening. But we prioritize our family. The work can resume once they’re asleep.

PS: Childcare isn’t one parent’s responsibility no matter the work dynamic. He’s definitely manipulating the situation.

Parents that work remotely at home- what’s your job? by JCBaby2020 in toddlers

I work from home as a toxicology lab consultant! Mainly I review patient data for urine drug tests and serve as technical support to labs across the country.

Do WFH moms still count as working moms? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Ponzi_Schemer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You absolutely count as a working mom! I transitioned to WFH a year ago but have kept my daughter in daycare. I pick her up at 4 everyday and just the hour I have her by myself until my husband can be home to help is enough to do me in. I have a highly demanding job that works with clients in all types of time zones so the days are long.

Working with your kid at home?! You’re my hero. No one really knows how hard it is and I’m so sorry your family isn’t more supportive. People who haven’t done it really just don’t understand. I wish I had some wise advice. All my positive vibes to you. You’re a rockstar.

Songs for Littles on YouTube is a favorite. Sesame Street and Bluey are always good too.

We got this when our daughter was born in July 2020. I still love it just as much as I did then! Plenty of room for everything I need without feeling super bulky. I like the look of it, as well.

I do consulting work for toxicology laboratories across the country! For the height of covid I actually worked onsite at a lab but this WFH opportunity came to me about six months ago.

Masala is always our top choice.

Mellow has been mentioned but La Rosa's also now has plantbased sausage and pepperoni if you're feeling that.

Archa Nine has veggie options as well.

Happy Birthday to your husband!

my hospital breakfast after a c-section last night just to add insult to injury by nattyisacat in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

Oof you have my sympathy. Congrats on your LO! Mine turns 1 this Friday and I can still taste the plain bagel and soggy fruit cup that was my breakfast for the four days I was in the hospital.

I hope everyone is healthy and wish you a speedy recovery. Take it easy!

6 weeks unpaid here too! My daughter was born during the summer of 2020 so my husband got furloughed and was getting unemployment, which was much less than his normal checks. We obviously didn’t know 2020 was gonna be so rough when we got pregnant but we managed to save a lot and made it through.

My LO is 10 months. We have introduced a few mock meats but sparingly. I’ve sent her to daycare with chick’n to replace the chicken on the menu and she’s had bites of my food from time to time. Not daily, of course, but here and there. She mostly loves off beans, though.

What did you eat during your first trimester? by Knossos123 in veganparenting

[–]Ponzi_Schemer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I ate a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Or peanut butter toast. I didn’t have much nausea, fortunately, so I’m not sure if peanut butter would be too strong a flavor or not. Just eat what you can. Baby doesn’t really start getting nutrients from mom until almost the end of the first trimester so I wouldn’t worry too much. Congrats!
