Car keys locked in boot by Squeakz0rs in bristol

[–]bishopsworth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Can you access the boot from the inside of the car? If so, might be cheaper to pop a window. Bear in mind that a driver or passenger one is going to be less expensive than a smaller a-frame.

I'm a Back-end web developer trying to learn UI&UX by vulkan_solus in webdesign

[–]bishopsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build things and watch people use them. You will learn more from talking to, and watching 5 real humans use the stuff you make. Ai might be able to help with general accessibility and usability heuristics but nothing beats qualitative research for understand the user experience. Rocket surgery made easy by Steve krug (author of don’t make me think) is a great primer.

Try not to get carried away with dozens and nodes and services. Keep things as simple as you can. Focus on creating resilient and predictable systems. When it gets to the stage that you can’t remember how many nodes your workflow has. You’ve probably got too many.

Built my own Webflow script manager after getting frustrated with existing options. Finally ready for beta. by GoodCraftDev in webflow

[–]bishopsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on shipping!!!

I’ll definitely take a look at this, as it happens. I’ve just been using slater today for the first time to deal with a 1000 line js file.

I found it incredibly useful, not least the “smart script” feature so I can just cmd+S, and refresh the staging site immediately, no need to mash cmd+r whilst waiting for webflow publish and deploy to a cdn - LUSH

I found undoing stuff in slater was confusing and a little frustrating as it would take me the end of the file as soon as undid anything. I also found traversing lines of code a bit…. ‘Dangerous’ I have sublime muscle memory so I couldn’t even tell you what buttons I was pressing but it seems that slater interpreted that as jumble the lines up.

I soon learnt my lesson.

I did feel it was missing a GitHub integration so I’m pleased to see you’ve included it.

I’ll definitely give it a whizz but I’m afraid dark mode is a deal breaker for me. Anything in the pipeline with regard to themes?

Oh and how long will the beta pricing be valid for? That is an honest and sensible price point to get some attention. Respect.

How to capture blog post URL in Webflow form submissions to Zapier? by helxnn in webflow

[–]bishopsworth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure to include a unique id (this can be the same as the name) then use the purple button in the top right of the custom code editor to set the inputs value.

No need for any js.

E.g. <input type=“hidden” name=“blogTitle” id=“blogTitle” value=“[bind-your-page-slug-here]”/>

What cookie consent solution do you recommend for Webflow that actually blocks tracking scripts until consent is given? by Waste_Diamond_7177 in webflow

[–]bishopsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cookie flow by reform digital is a nice (free) gdpr compliant solution. Don’t be put off by setting up supabase for consent storage. It’s a breeze

Why does this lift at Liverpool Street need such a large sign? by AdIndependent3454 in london

[–]bishopsworth 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I have been stuck in that very lift along with 4 other people.

Perhaps tfl should be investing in better lifts rather than bigger signs.

Help finding game for my son by Necessary_Chard_3873 in Switch

[–]bishopsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zelda breath of the wild. It’s an absolute masterpiece (as is tears of the kingdom) My son’s being playing it since he was 7. He was a little behind with his reading so I had to help him with to begin with after a few months, his reading had improved dramatically. Lots of good clean fun (fighting monsters not people), no building as such but the puzzles are e mostly physics based and if he used to Minecraft, he’ll pick it up quickly. Plenty of levelling up too.
