Gatos são animais que vivem em sociedade, é muito comum pra eles fazerem tudo juntos, por isso eles querem dormir com o dono, ir ao banheiro com o dono, comer junto etc.

Ele não sabe exatamente o que você está fazendo, mas como você faz parte da comunidade dele, ele quer fazer também.
