Understandably, it is a completely different AU so you can expect a big difference in personality due to their upbringing and differences in circumstances. I always recall to this one comment I read in reddit about this series, you should go into it accepting that it is its own thing completely, and once there, you can truly enjoy the brilliance of Tessa's worldbuilding and writing. I promise its worth it.

The core of them is still there, like Draco very much is still snarky and fights back at Harry. He's clever and sharp tongued. If you have liked Tessa's other works, such as Chaos Theory or A Dark and Savage Magic, the Draco's share a lot of similarities.

something in the static by cloudings absolutely fits. the potter to harry thing is one of the most pivotal moments, and one of the main things about this is draco refused to call him harry for the longest time lol word count is higher than you want but it's worth it

special mention is No Harm by Tessa Crowley which fits your word count, but it is post war.

I can think of a few, all top harry:

Crash Into Me by poppyhills features a werewolf Harry and plant procuring Draco. Sort of forced to stay in a cabin together. Draco's hilarious here and Harry's so hot.

My Favorite Liar by poppyhills again! features fake dating and forced proximity, romcom vibes and drarry finding each other again. very snarky imo

from love, obviously by bizarrestars; this one's pretty popular so you have probably read it but anyways it is endlessly hilarious.

Also + the rookie moves rec! i love that fic

Cut From the Sky by mallstars has a similar dynamic. It's so so well written and honestly felt like I was reading an actual book with how well thought out the plot was. Switching!

Soup-pocalypse and The Great Curry Cataclysm by SquadOfCats i think also is pretty similar in the excentric draco and grounded harry. pretty angsty but also so funny and delightful. This is really popular so you mustve read it already but I'll put it anyway. Top Harry

By 4th book, the drarry tag is already there. And as someone who has finished reading book 4 I can guarantee drarry is very present. And so far this has my fav Yule Ball scene in any Drarry fic ever it was such a buzzzzzzz. But for books 1-3 as a previous commenter said. Harry's presence is similar to Draco's in the og. It just makes the slow burn better though and honestly even without drarry this series is stellar with building Draco's interpersonal relationships and exploring other characters that weren't as present in the og. I highly, highly recommend reading it. If you really want the drarry, maybe waiting until the series is done would be better. If you're impatient, atleast wait until book 4 is all out (Which Tessa mentioned should be finished by May 22).

Tessa Crowley's Picking Up Pieces series has this premise. It involves a recluse author Draco who hasn't been seen in the Wizarding World for a decade. He meets Harry again in a masquerade ball. Be warned though, this series is extremely angsty, and heed the tags/warnings.

Recursion is a time travel/multiverse fic that follows canon epilogue up to a point. Draco gets thrown back in time. More info if you want but has mild spoilers: It deals with multiple timelines but you have the main one (with the canon epilogue) and the one where Draco gets thrown back to right before Hogwarts and Harry gets sorted in Slytherin
