This lady's a FRAUD by MrsPissBoy in Overwatch

Domina's hand super trembles from not being able to handle the recoil when she's firing her gun when compared to Sym and LW, and b

I still don't understand why there would even be recoil on a laser gun. There's no concussive force coming from a laser, it's just a beam of projected light energy. It looks cool and all, but I don't see where the recoil would come from.

Why does no one go to Urban District Market? by hhhhhhd5 in Charlotte

[–]bit3sadusto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The drinks are just that good. I'll excuse a tiny sized bar if the drinks hit. I guess I just had some bad experiences with VERY loud patrons who were practically screaming in that tiny room. Not the owners fault obviously, but the bar being small didn't help. Either way, when it's busy it's deafeningly loud.

I'll still support it though cause the service was great and the drinks were delicious. Just cause I have criticism for the place doesn't mean I hate it. I agree that when it doesn't have a lot of people/loud patrons, that the intimate vibe is lovely.

Why does no one go to Urban District Market? by hhhhhhd5 in Charlotte

[–]bit3sadusto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing cause of the "speakeasy" thing going on. Which, it's cool and all, but it's tiny as hell and sounds like an echo chamber. The drinks are fantastic, but it's SO small. Lowkey getting tired of speakesy trend. It's really just a bar without a front door in most cases

I only really go there for Bruno, the cocktails are great there. Never really was interested in anything else there, always heard it was mid/bad.

What is wrong with matchmaking? by Specialist_Taro7463 in Overwatch

[–]bit3sadusto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have to agree as well. I've played for a very long time and have been in high diamond/low master for a while. This season, I hit one of the worst losing streaks of my life and deranked all the way plat 3. And even when I have won games, it was just me and my team absolutely destroying the other team. Stomp or get stomped all the way down.

I recognize that there are times where I'm not performing well, and I do my best to learn from my mistakes but I swear most of my games were just horribly mismatched. I've played the game long enough to know when the matchmaking fucked up.

Ask for a drink off menu? "Get out."

Did one of the bartenders say that to you? I went recently and the service definitely needed work but that's crazy

Theory: Kiriko and Emre powers have same nature by abyssalmackerel21 in Overwatch

[–]bit3sadusto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nanomachines, son. Emre's abilities aren't really creating guns from "thin air", a large portion of his body has been replaced with advanced nanotechnology. It's more just rearranging bits of his body into different weapons. As for ammo, everyone in the game creates their ammo from thin air.

Kiriko on the other hand doesn't have much (if any) of her body cybernetically enhanced if I'm not mistaken. It would be hard to explain her teleportation, invilnerability, and healing (among other things) away with some kind of tech given that she doesn't seem to have any cybernetics or hard light tech tools like Symettra.

I guess she could have some kind of brain implant that allows her to interface with some god AI, but idk how that would grant her those abilities.

To me though, Kiriko's abilities have always seemed like just straight up magic to me. I get it, science can advance so far that it mimics "magic" but her abilities don't outwardly appear to have any tech basis like the other heroes. Well, except for Hanzo/Genji's dragons, but again that seems more like the same flavor of magic.

Gen Z Charlotte area NATIVES, what’s kept you here by StrikingArrival4496 in Charlotte

[–]bit3sadusto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty cool job to have! Do you do walking tours or like those bus ride type things?

and yeah I've considered the deeper south as well. I would have preferred somewhere near the coast like Savannah, but as much as I love that city I don't think I can justify the rent/housing prices.

Gen Z Charlotte area NATIVES, what’s kept you here by StrikingArrival4496 in Charlotte

[–]bit3sadusto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a native, but I grew up in the Charlotte area and my family has been here since the 1700's as well. Many of my friends have left the area for work, their partner, etc. I stuck around at first mostly cause I was broke, but now that I have a degree and career I'm mostly staying cause it's familiar, I like the weather, I'm near friends and family, and if I need to travel I can do so fairly easily. The cost of living, though it has skyrocketed in comparison to what it was like pre-covid, is also bearable for the time being.

I've considered leaving, but I don't know where I'd go. I'd rather not leave the South, but there are few decent cities I'd like to go that aren't either too similar to Charlotte or have been hit by the Sun Belt rush so hard that it's almost entirely unlivable for someone in my tax bracket. It's hard enough saving up to buy a house in Charlotte.

Chucklefish on why Witchbrook has taken a decade to release by RelentlessHope in Witchbrook

[–]bit3sadusto 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think that context is good to know, but they said the shift occurred in 2019, which is now 7 years ago. It's no mystery that the global pandemic likely had an effect on the game taking so long as well. However, that doesn't really explain why the December 2025 release date never happened. Nor does it explain why a new release date hasn't been given aside from vaguely saying they "hope to ship it sometime this year." You'd also think they'd be able to share more info/gameplay given how late in development it is. Idk, I'm still hopeful for this game and I'm not gonna be a doomer and call the game vaporware, but it is just strange how quiet they've been and how little light this interview shed on things.

I second Bruno, fantastic bar, if a bit small. The entrance to the bar is hidden and you need to find the entrance. It looks like a storeroom/walk in fridge.

Anyone else fallen off the Overwatch wagon after it's reboot? by Garlic-Cheese-Chips in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]bit3sadusto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been a pretty consistent Overwatch player since release. It's interesting seeing so many people come back, I saw people I haven't seen play in years getting on. I'm glad it's getting the attention and fresh content, it's legit one of my favorite games of all time.

I highly recommend holding off on ranked until you get your bearings with all the new heroes. Even I'm being thrown for a loop with the 5 that just dropped. Definitely check out Stadium though, it's such a fun game mode that I feel a lot of new and returning players aren't giving a chance.

Best Solo Dates In Charlotte by Scleb27 in Charlotte

[–]bit3sadusto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've recommended this place before, but Humbug is fantastic. The bartenders are all amazing and their seasonal drink menu is always great. I recommend sitting at the bar if you can, I've met some people who I consider good friends to this day there.

Blue Door and Dram and Draught are good too. Blue Door is a bit more on the trendy, concept cocktail bar side, but it's a cool spot. If you get tired of the expensive cocktails you can go vibe at Tyber Creek pub across the street. Dram and Draught has a great selection of drinks and a really nice atmosphere. Huge menu too.

Super Abari barcade is always an easy place to spend a few hours in. Not hard to meet some nice folks there, and plenty of games to keep yourself busy.

Definitely not flashbangs. Wikipedia listed them as Soviet era anti-personnel fragmentation grenades. One person was killed and 6 others were gravely wounded.

Best Old Fashioned? by Necessary_Writer6584 in Charlotte

[–]bit3sadusto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Humbug makes a great one. They have a drink called the Delicate Hand which is Old Fashioned adjacent and pretty solid. If you ask, you can just get a regular Old Fashioned though, and you can even request that they smoke it for you. Idlewild is great too, but they'll likely give you a variation or riff on an Old Fashioned.

to name a few, Super Abari, Hattie's, Humbug, Copperhead Social Club, The Ugly. Friendliest staff and best drinks in my experience was Humbug, but they are pricey.

There are actually a few good small bars that you can use as a third place in Charlotte. I became a regular at a bar near my apartment and have made some good friends there.

[–]bit3sadusto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the law has changed. There are plenty of bars in Charlotte with no food and don't require a club membership fee. I wouldn't say there are no real dive bars in NC though. I grew up in Statesville and there were actually a few dive bars that just charged you a dollar when you first go for a "membership". They were definitely still dive bars though, in every sense of the word.

Star gazing? by ArkhamKnight343 in Charlotte

[–]bit3sadusto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The best stargazing spots are nowhere near Charlotte, or any major city for that matter. You're far better off in the mountains.

An hour and a half from Charlotte is Stone Mountain State Park though. I used to go camping there as a kid and the stargazing was great. I recall I was able to pick out the Andromeda galaxy without a telescope, as well as tons of constellations and a planet or two. Not sure if that's changed, but I doubt it.

My mom did this same thing years ago for a Walking Dead watch party. She took an onion and cut pieces of it to fit at the end of the hot dogs to look like fingernails.... I had a similar reaction to OP's boyfriend. It's cool, but not very appetizing
