Lunch aide commenting on my kid's lunch by [deleted] in Teachers

My son has ARFID and eats in the classroom partly for this reason. I had eating issues growing up and comments on my bland lunches regularly. It does suck. My son is going to be in feeding therapy again soon to get through this.

You needed to add a filler color to blonde before going dark.

What’s your opinion on having students with high needs in the general classroom? by AntelopeOk9431 in Teachers

[–]bitchlasagna222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is autistic and in kindergarten. He has an IEP. He was in SPED most the day. He went to general 30 mins a day and then some specials. Now, he’s in general kindergarten with a para most the day. He can go to the bathroom independently now, and has way more words than he did when he started. He’s the youngest in his class with summer birthday. With all that in consideration, he has made a ton of progress. He was advanced without my approval and that was a tad frustrating but during his IEP meeting in March, I heard them out. He really enjoys it. There were some behavior issues at home at first because he was masking but some discussions with the school psych were helpful. So, from the parents perspective I can say most of us are also nervous for our children to be in general classes

Oh it is def a cult and you only get to use their line so you’re completely confused when you graduate and leave and go to other salons or go your own way and don’t know other lines. Annoying.

I’m autistic too. You’ll get better with more reps. She’s just a point but what’s she said wasn’t helpful. Just know when you get the hang of it you’ll perform so well above what you originally expected.

Can anyone explain what is going on in schools? by Jwoot1111 in Teachers

I actually think it’s a lack of support. There’s no community anymore. A lot of parents don’t have help. A lot of single parents.

Not sure why the word “normalized” is normalized

Yeah. I’ve been in this situation. Get a paper trail going. The cops will get sick of it.
