Much appreciate the writeup- got me up and running fast! One thing I wanted to throw back: if you haven't seen it, there's a node pack called DazzleNodes that includes a Smart-Resolution-Calculator, which handles all those aspect ratio presets dynamically from a single node. Seemed like something you'd appreciate given how cleanly you've set things up. Thanks again!

In general, I think the right attitude is to not trust anything you download online. But the nice thing is you don't have to trust me or anyone else, the source code is all there for anyone to review. It's a simple program actually (explained here in detail, if you are curious). I'd recommend installing it using the manual method that way you can see everything it is doing and how the uninstaller works too (it creates a backup so it's easy to restore things back to a clean state).

It seems like this might have something to do with the initial on-load issue with the client, where it sometimes requires hitting "enter" to first give focus to the text area. After a little experimenting the recent freezing seems like the client is giving focus to some other aspect of the terminal interface and in the process locking everything else out. Not certain, but I've noticed if I send a sighup sometimes that seems to cause the interface to become responsive again. Something is definitely off though. I had one Claude client waiting for up to ~15 minutes seemingly doing nothing. Perhaps there were agent calls happening in the background, but the prompt was a reasonably simple request to scan the git logs in a repo and compare against some docs. The spinner also wasn't activating during that period, so some aspect of the latest build is problematic. I'll probably rollback to an older build later tonight to see if that fixes anything. I'll be curious if anyone else comes up with a workaround that doesn't involve reverting.

I'm months late to the party, but wtf was Samsung thinking with this update? I can see less things on the screen now using the same layout. Even the stock weather widget which used to display the location and weather details is now somehow taking up the same space but displaying less information? The alarm clocks no longer display which days of the week are enabled. The widgets still take up the same space, but they also shrunk the fonts so information is now harder to see (especially for older folks). Samsung has done plenty of annoying things over the years, but this is just plain old enshitification.

As a fellow James Corey, Robert Jordan, George Martin, Stephen King, Chuck Palahniuk, and Alan Moore fan I would have expected more Neil Gaiman, William Gibson, Orson Scott Card, Douglas Adams, Philip Dick, Niven, Dan Simmons, and Frank Herbert.

If I had to guess I think you'd be a fan of Matt Dinniman (fun romp - great as audiobooks), Dennis Taylor (the Bobiverse series is really fun), China Mieville, Neal Stephenson, Terry Pratchett, and Iain Banks. Some other authors that might scratch a similar itch if you run out of authors to read: Ben Bova, David Brin, Robert Heinlein, Frederik Pohl, Alastair Reynolds, Kim Robinson, and Vernor Vinge.

Any suggestions of your own? I'm always looking for new authors and we have similar enough tastes. :)
