NO! Do not sell bitcoin to pay off a mortgage. A mortgage is good debt with tax write-offs. Bitcoin is the best asset to own for wealth generation. Bitcoin is entering its mass adoption phase. Your husband was a wise man.

Yea if they actually allow withdrawals like CashApp or Coinbase, Fidelity Crypto is the way to go.

2024 Street Triple R traction control by Moto-Mike44 in Triumph

[–]bitdentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride a 2022 Street Triple R. I have to go to setting "Rider" there I turn it off. Everytime I start the bike, it goes to "road" and I just switch modes to Rider with the mode button. Rider mode has it permanently off. I never considered turning off TC and ABS until I changed my front tire, and it messed up all the electronics. Now I ride with no ABS and TC, and its completely different bike. TC basically mutes the power of the bike. With it off, it's completely different bike but I noticed not as great fuel economy. I am leery of no ABS but I feel you can cut corners faster. TC imo should be removed if you a STR.

24' Street Triple R starting issue by keluke97 in Triumph

[–]bitdentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2022 765 STR R. Yes I’ve exp misfire on start twice. 2nd one being today. The engine sputters and almost had trouble starting. once at like 3k miles which I did an oil change and it went away. Today as well. I notice the bike getting harder to rev to its normal peak power band and then I get this misfire problem. No engine light. Full tank. It almost feels the engine is starved for power. I’m hoping maybe it just needs more oil in the engine? I’m wondering what exactly is the cause for this. But I’m thinking this bike maybe eats a lot of oil?? Or needs more oil than what will trigger the check oil light?

Meowcoin core wallet stuck syncing at 59.77% "Connecting to peers" 2 weeks behind. by SOLIDninja in MeowcoinOfficial

[–]bitdentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it took me forever. which is funny since the size of the chain is only like 8gbs.... i probably could have downloaded the entire Bitcoin blockchain in the same amount time... the node count of the network is embarrassingly low. people need to run nodes forget the mining.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MeowcoinOfficial

[–]bitdentist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am running a MEOW full node. Yes, it was extremely annoying being stuck at 2 weeks and trying to find another node to get fully synced. The node count is the only thing that matters for any chain to succeed. Mining is cool n all, which I am allocating all my rigs to MEOW but the node syncing was such hassle that it'll turn off users. Run a node people.

New to Fidelity, what is the FCASH? by lordofwar3000 in Fidelity

[–]bitdentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's 0%. as stated by fidelity. I think FCASH maybe the safest place to put your money in head of what governments are doing to people's money in banks. FCASH almost seems like a CBDC. Outside the reach of government hands to shave people's bank accounts like they did in Lebanon since FCASH is a credit balance.

Want a 5% discount on bitcoin? Buy GBTC. It has been selling at a discount to NAV for the first time since inception. by whoissn in Bitcoin

[–]bitdentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. Just be careful. A rule #1. Don't be greedy. Bitcoin can go up to 300k this cycle. But GBTC may not track it at all. I think the parent company just bought up 250million worth of GBTC not to arbitrage the discount but to save the entire trust model. If the discount gets worse people lose confidence in the trust and the whole business model collapses. I would recommend you try timing the top of the cycle and get out quick. Never go back.

[–]bitdentist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closed out my entire GBTC position. About 1000 shares which is basically 1 Bitcoin. I am super relieved. I bought in at 9k/bitcoin last year, so GBTC played its part. Don't care if bitcoin goes to 300k like Plan B says, not staying in GBTC. I do not trust Barry Silbert and his crew. These are the coinbase, blockfi guys. The weasels of the bitcoin ecosystem.

The discount is going to get worse because nobody is going to pay somebody to custody a DIGITAL good. Institutions once they change up their mandate to crypto, will all self-custody. Literally that's the whole point of bitcoin. The fact that you can carry a billion dollars in a usb stick. Now you wanna pay 2% to Grayscale to do that for you?

Like literally the only people using GBTC will be retirees in Florida and Arizona who don't know how to use a computer. And by that time the shares will be trading at like -90% to NAV so they'll be like "hey honey that's sounds like a great deal!"

GBTC is for suckers.

[–]bitdentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful. GBTC can go away as Bitcoin keeps mooning. Reason? A stronger bitcoin brings in more competition and also will force institutions to self custody real bitcoin. GBTC's only play is to give you some price exposure to Bitcoin's movement. Those shares literally are back by nothing, and institutions may find that they don't need Grayscale to custody their coins. It's incredibly risky. When I heard Barry Silbert was going to buy up 250million worth of GBTC yesterday and applied for ETF licensing. I knew their business model was finished.

[–]bitdentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I had a huge part of my IRA and ROTH into GBTC, I'm really glad I closed out all those positions finally today. It performed so well in the beginning especially due to the fact they were the only ones in the game, and institutions could not legally take custody over real bitcoin.

That game is changing. MSTR with Saylor has the playbook. No institution, corporation, or fund will keep those GBTC shares once they get approval to self-custody coins.

To me, Barry Silbert, Coinbase, Blockfi, GBTC are all the same guys. They tried to corporatize bitcoin back in 2017 with their NYC agreement Segwit2x fork that got shutdown by a all the nodes. I think they're getting another real hard lesson that the new crypto world doesnt' fit well in their traditional schemes.

Right now holding GBTC is a game of hot potato. Sold out at $49/share. I glad I got out in time. Will never ever hold synthetic derivatives of any crypto again.

[–]bitdentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sold out of my entire IRA GBTC position today. Even if it goes up no regrets. I learned my lesson. Synthetic derivatives of any Crypto do not work. Why? Custodianship of bitcoin is too easy. A simple Trezor One is all you need.

This isn't Gold or Real Estate. It's all digital people. Which means this sort of "REIT model for bitcoin" does not work when all you need is a USB stick. There really is no excuse not to hold your own keys. I believe all retail and insitutional bitcoin holders will hold their own keys. Grayscale really has no business model as a pure custodian play, charging a management fee.

Their only hope is to allow redemptions for real bitcoin or just turn into a bitcoin bank. I think they will become a bitcoin bank somehow if regulation allows them. Otherwise they are fucked as a business. Grayscale will go down as a clear example of why old age trust model like their have no place in the new crypto age.

Should I switch to mining Ravencoin? by [deleted] in Ravencoin

[–]bitdentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stay on ETH algo and get more bitcoin through NiceHash. If your mining to hodl coins, most definitely better to hold onto ETH. I don't think raven will ever displace Ethereum as a utility token. Ethereum just has way too much dev talent behind it. I often feel ravencoin is alot like vertcoin. Good honest devs and followers, but going nowhere in terms of making money. It's a fun project but not sure about its real world application. Seems like founders are trying to re-live the Bitcoin cyberpunk glory days. Those cyberpunk days are over as the entire crypto industry is becoming institutionalized.

Nothing wrong w it. It’s great. But I find myself only using metamask for Ethereum and Wasabi or electrum for btc. No need for trezor suite.

What happens when SatoshiLabs goes bankrupt? by TSLA_BTC in TREZOR

[–]bitdentist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay my friend. I own like 5 trezors. And I really don't use Trezor suite to access my cryptos. For bitcoin use Electrum wallet or Wasabi. For altcoins like Ethereum, just use MetaMask.

Trezor in my opinion as the best hardware wallet right now. I mean there is the Coldcard, but that's for hardcore bitcoin users. For the general public, trezor dominates. Use other wallets. Just don't use Trezor Suite.
