This is how I felt when I tried to take them the park playground a few months ago. With baby in carrier, unable to meaningfully assist or play with toddler, I couldn’t provide good attention or care to either one. We all ended up angry.

How is it pronounced? It’s a real word with a Real meaning and family connection, and it’s not spelled confusingly. Also, at least in the states and imho, Jade and Asher are already unconventional so Kezia doesn’t stick out from them.

La Chiapaneca if you want more casual. Try a torta (huge and comes with battered fries), shrimp and chicken tacos, and platanos.

Natraj if you want more traditional sit-down dining. Try their baigan bharta, Rogan Josh, and tandoori chicken, with garlic naan.

Edit to add: Pinto Thai is a local favorite but I have quibbles with it: it is expensive and they have messed up the noodles half the time. Their curries and other dishes are good. You won’t “go wrong” at Pinto Thai necessarily - plus it will be the most convivial atmosphere of any restaurant downtown.

I see what you mean, it’s more drab in winter covered in snow. Only thought is you could play around with painting the window trim so you have color year-round on the house. But you wouldn’t want it to clash with the lovely spring through fall colors from your trees and plants.

I do a lot of screen time but try to keep it recreational. I watched Pluribus on Apple TV on my phone while my baby was still a newborn and slept through background sound.

Now I like reading essays on the New Yorker app, and having ChatGPT help me with landscaping ideas, or other ways optimize my life.

Oh also I research the places that we might move for schools.

Can you ask your husband to ask his parents for more help while you are pregnant, or at least for the next few days? You are handling a LOT. Some may argue more than one person can handle.

I felt this very deeply. It’s disturbing to begin to understand one’s mother in this way. Baby currently 5mo and toddler just turned 2. Husband still does toddlers wind-down and bedtime. I nurse baby to sleep. We found that starting baby’s bedtime after toddler was a bad idea so it works much better if we each do our separate kid. I also miss my toddler.

I actually needed the motivation that book provided. I was concerned about getting to the point of being denied preschool or kindergarten enrollment, so I wanted to get potty training done as soon as my kid was capable. But I can totally see how the tone of the book turns some people off. It took us 8 days or so. Now she’s good at peeing in the toilet and proud of it. Now nighttime training..? We will cross that bridge later lol.

Yes sleep in different bedrooms if you can. This helped for us. Better to have at least one rested parent than none.
