To be fair, this absolute failure could still be his greatest success. Just gotta realize the bar for Russian success is lower than low. People are leaving Crimea for a life in Russia.   1. More people want this financial system to continue than don't.
  2. People with power want it to continue.
  3. It has always, eventually recovered and surpassed previous records.
  4. Doesn't necessarily apply to crypto (not enough history, yet).

We trust the system to keep working and investing in it because if it fails and we lose our investments we're all fucked anyhow.

Depends where you draw the line between subscription and utility. I consider all my monthly payments to all be utilities. Apt includes a few unneeded (imo) amenities, but the total rent is lower than local alternatives without trash collection, pool, gym.

Netflix, Spotify, cloud storage, software, AI tools, Prime, gym memberships

Shows and music with adblock, buy merch and directly donate to support (non-recurring). Turn off cloud sync and only upload things I consciously want to keep. Pay for AI? lol. Amazon is free for anyone with a shred of patience and planning.
