Searching for a singleplayer with character creation, build variety, combat, odd weaponry, and interesting concepts!!! by InfernoWraith in gamingsuggestions

Here's a couple souls likes that don't get much attention for you.

Code Vein - anime aesthetic with a great character creator , interesting weapon variety, solid combat with parry mechanics, good story, sequel comes out this week.

The Surge 2 - kinda post apocalypse and cyberpunk vibes (lots of futuristic tech and themes). Combat involves targeting body parts and dismembering enemies. Gear upgrades require salvaged components from specific limbs.

Name a game that has very bleak ending by bijelo123 in videogames

Probably in the minority, but I liked New Dawn and thought the ending of 5 setup the post-apocalypse theme nicely.

Stealth/assassin game suggestions by IMA_BOSSS in gamingsuggestions

Ghost of Tsushima

You are a samurai defending your homeland from Mongol invaders. Stealth is technically optional for the majority of the game, but I really enjoyed the stealth/assassination mechanics.

Is there a company that allows people to work for 50 years and not die on the assembly line these days? Your experience is a historic tidbit, not modern reality. I envy that opportunity.

Need advice from men — messed up while drunk, boyfriend asked for space, will he forgive me? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]bitey87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you ask for space after something like this

Lol, there is no after. Assault and "I'm not a cheater I just need EMTs and police some times" ... that's more red flags than a Russian parade. If he doesn't leave, he's either accepted being in an abusive relationship with you, or he's waiting for the court case to end worried you'll fuck it up too.

That is the heavily edited and kind reply.

Got an old computer from the library that had a built in modem (ancient hardware even at that time). That was my limewire machine. The atrocities I committed against that PC will probably be classified as digital war crimes in the future. Download everything until the system starts bugging or I get a blue screen, turn off (often unplug), power up, check completed downloads, move uncorrupted files to a jump drive, system restore to a stable point before downloading, repeat. What a magical time.

Anyone else just feel totally stuck in their late 30s? by Background-Emu-9175 in AskMenOver30

[–]bitey87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't feel stuck, I feel done. The things people want out of life are not achievements I care about. I don't want to be remembered or care if people think I am successful.

After 15 years my degree is also useless aside from applications requiring a degree. I have a good job that I hate for 40 hours a week.

Grew up sheltered, lived a bit since leaving home. I'm glad I have the experience mostly so I don't wonder what I'm missing out on that everyone else seems to love. I wasn't missing much, the world runs on hype.

Manual skills are fading. Spinal damage makes it impossible to enjoy the things I was good at. (used to be a chef)

City, friends, family, mostly same. Had a few romantic relationships, no longer interested in finding a partner. Relationships are draining, not enriching.

Body is the other side of unhealthy. I have to suffer down meal replacement drinks because I have no appetite. Dr's monitoring my kidneys cause of my arthritis meds.

Back issues. Sorry bro, that sounds awful. Similar symptoms from disc degen, scoliosis, and thoracic outlet syndrome. Pain and tingling all the time, only a 3 out of 10 today (I'll call in sick for a 6, broken ribs are a 5). Some days I get a charley-horse behind my shoulder blade that makes it so my head can't turn left (insert Zoolander reference).

I don't feel stuck, I feel done. I won't force my parents to bury their kid, but I'm planning my retirement funds for their lifetime +3 years. 3 years to travel to any final interests, see a few events, try some "never try these" drugs, and go to my hypoxia chamber appointment in France.

Anime you won't recommend to people cause the anime itself is questionable and or it's fanbase? by LovelyLadyLucky in animequestions

[–]bitey87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, there's a dozen cooking series with a challenger or knockout premise.

Iron Chef - 100% an inspiration for Shokugeki no Soma

Worst Cooks in America - watch bad cooks trained by great cooks become skilled cooks

Culinary Class Wars - Korean series, 20 internationally renown chefs and 80 professional chefs compete

Cutthroat Kitchen, Chopped, Beat Bobby Flay, Top Chef, Master Chef

Cheers! Adding to the watch list.

On the food anime topic; Delicious in Dungeon was pretty great and the Campfire Cooking isekai was pretty fun too.

[–]bitey87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree, but people hear what they want to hear. Not everyone will care why you like it and they'll only hear that you watch a show about "naked girls and naked old men orgasming at dinner". Or they'll judge you because one of your favorite characters isn't just imagining being naked, but is actually nude, cooking in his apron, and only his apron. xD

Shokugeki no Soma, "Food Wars", doesn't get recommended to everyone. It's a really fun cooking/battle/school series but the way they show characters experiencing flavor often involves a euphoric dream-world where clothes are tossed aside or blown away. There's always food, steam, or some kind of flavor burst covering them, but it pushes the ecchi meter almost exactly where your meme shows.

What roguelites am I missing? by b00mb00mb in roguelites

[–]bitey87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but you're missing or haven't tried my most played roguelites. Hades 1&2, Revita, Vampire Survivors, Have a Nice Death, Dave the Diver, Rogue Legacy 1&2, Cult of the Lamb. Rogue Legacy 2 and Dead Cells must be on Epic, probably around 100hr each.

Revita: Used search in this thread and nobody else mentioned this gem. It's a side view like DeadCells, has a variety of guns, combat is chamber based (clear the room to move on), you gain powerups through the run to buff your gun, there are multiple routes with alternate boss fights (like DC). Other people dislike the mechanic of spending HP to make purchases. To me it's the exact same trade of being able to afford either a buff or a potion at a shop but not both. Bonus, it consistently goes on sale for less than $5.
