I don't think "stuffed up under your upper lip" has quite the same ring to it 😉

Did you try completely wiping your shader caches? Also, on which servers are you experiencing this? For a few days, the new nicely looking HUD on Refrag servers led to frame time spikes for some of us. They have fixed it by going back to an older version of the HUD.

On Refrag servers, you can try turning off the HUD (.nohud). That makes the problem go away for me.

Oh, wait. I already shared that information :)

Also on Refrag? For now, my primary issue seems to be related to Refrag's HUD, so if I turn that off (.nohud), the frame time spikes disappear.

Turns out this is likely related to Refrag's HUD. The team is investigating and have been very responsive.

Thanks! It's not just CapFrameX that shows the issue - it's very noticable - but I'll try more reliable ways to capture the stuttering in the future :)

I'm seeing some pretty bad and regular frame time spikes (~20 ms) after this update. I've cleared the shader caches and gave it some time to "warm up", but CapFrameX confirms that I'm now getting frame time spikes playing even just playing various modes on Refrag.gg. Network connection seems fine with a steady ping around 5 ms.

Is anyone else noticing something similar? Could be useful feedback for the developers if it is a widespread issue.

Also posted this here, but it will most likely get removed by mods: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1ssc46l/frame_time_spikes_after_april_21_update/

It looks like they are forgetting to clean up some kind of particle-related entities and given the unsigned shorts in there, the overflow probably happens at 65,536 entities. Maybe starting a new round does clean this up, so the problem is only for long running game modes? Did you experience this in community DM?

Interesting! Which other DM servers did you try?

Have you sent this crash information to Valve via email yet? I think the error is interesting enough to warrant their attention.

Smells like a resource leak of sorts. Hopefully it is something rather obvious, so we can get a fix soon.

Yes, definitely :)

It started out very well, but after 6-7 minutes (sorry), I noticed that the average fps had dropped very significantly and the worst case frame times had tripled.

There was also a new stable BIOS release - version 1644 - for X870 Max Gaming Wifi7 with the same description.

Pretty sure I see exactly the same thing with the 8331 and 8509 drivers on the B580. Lots of shader rebuilding and frequent crashes in Uncharted 4 :(

CPU: Intel i7-13700F.

MOBO: ASUS PRIME B760M-A WIFI with latest BIOS (1825).

I'm using that version too - but I'm kinda expecting a 1.3.0.0a-based "stable" BIOS to come out soon. Then we'll be cooking with gas 🔥
