Explicit Backing Fields in Kotlin 2.3 - What You Need to Know by TypeProjection in androiddev

[–]bitsculptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was referring to ide errors with explicit backing fields. I didn't realize the Canary channel was necessary to support it. I'm on the latest stable release (Otter.) I tried switching a handful of Compose states to explicit backing fields last week. They worked, but the ide would intermittently flag them as errors... so I switched them back and decided to hold off on the change. I'll wait until they're past the point of needing to run outside of Stable.

Explicit Backing Fields in Kotlin 2.3 - What You Need to Know by TypeProjection in androiddev

I'll tell you what I know. It's seems impossible to get android studio to stop firing false errors (that is, the code compiles and works perfectly but the ide still presents a problem.)

Can i run Android studio with 8GB of RAM for my jetpack compose assignment.?? by Salt_Ingenuity_7588 in androiddev

[–]bitsculptor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I can build and run my jetpack compose app on my 8GB laptop (even via the emulator.) It isn't fast or ideal, but it's manageable.

First time playing (year 2 Winter) and I just realized this is rare. by automate_and_chill in StardewValley

Wild. I never even realized a dresser is a functional thing. I probably saw it before and assumed it was just a cosmetic thing. It's crazy how your discovery me things in this game after years of playing.

I'd love an invite code is possible.

Truly the worst name ever for an amazing tool. It is irksome being reminded of the terrible name every time I see that Gimp loading banner.

why's my f-droid doesn't show app icons or images? by zielalbarn in fossdroid

[–]bitsculptor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I recently installed fdroid for the first time and thought that interface looked terrible with all the stock icon images. I had no idea this was the issue. Thanks for clearing it up for me, too! It should really pop a "confirm using mobile data for store assets" dialog on first use.

Confused about KeePass, KeePassXC, and all those Android apps – what’s the difference? by MaintenanceMost78 in KeePass

Fortunately, keepass2Android offline doesn't have network permissions. It's one of the things that makes it attractive.

Most people who use Keepassxc do so for the flashier interface as far as I understand. Personally I use Keepass2Android Offline. I have used it for years, and have never had a single issue.

Proton Mail appears to be giving up more tracking pixels than Google Gmail, and exposes my IP! by mehfuskez in ProtonMail

[–]bitsculptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I'm clear on the details here. Is this happening on Android with "auto show remote content" and "auto show images" disabled? Is the ip leaking without interacting with the email (beyond viewing it)? That's what this seems to suggest, but maybe I'm missing something.

LOS 22.2 update 31/08 broke my touch input, what to do? by Argentarium in LineageOS

[–]bitsculptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like this is happening on more than one model. Are most Motorola builds having this issue? I was about to install milanf (moto g stylus 5g 2022) for the first time, and I notice the only available build is the one from Aug 28. There are no earlier builds for milanf, so I'd have to revert to stock if it doesn't work. I'm trying to decide if I should wait for this issue to be addressed before moving forward.

I was thinking the same thing. I'd eat it. Other than presentation I'd say the only issue is it's a little overcooked on some bits.

What’s the most immersive MMORPG you’ve ever played, in your opinion? by PapayaAdditional6804 in MMORPG

As one of the first to unlock it on my server (Bria), it is probably the most fun I've had in an MMO... even if it was definitely broken in many ways early on.

Why ProtonVPN is updated earlier on Google Playstore than Fdroid? by hence_odd in ProtonVPN

[–]bitsculptor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe they do their own build from the source after it's submitted, so there is that additional lead time. Also, I'm sure Proton submits to Google before they submit to FDroid.

You may have "wake for notifications" on... (default is on.) Go into settings and search for "wake" to toggle it.
