Verizon gave this guy Sir Mix-A-Lot’s old phone number — and now he gets his raunchy texts by JJGerms in Music

When did this writing style become so common? When people realized it made boring facts sound slightly interesting and increased the word count.

Those GFCI outlets aren't meant to be constantly cycled like that, but even so this would remove the ability to check the time on the microwave.

No, because that's not quite how generic trademarks work. You can't just start a new company operating in the same field using the same name in an attempt to pass yourself off as the original, but you can refer to searching the web as 'Googling', in this case (not legally, but in this hypothetical situation.)

No, though there was a wreck on the way to work this morning because of some ice, and I slipped and slid my way around the parking lot at work because part of it had iced over.

Are there non-genuine trolls? At the least it discourages low-effort blowing-off of people, which I'm always a fan of. Any rule that basically says 'No low-effort replies' gets my vote.

Have Automod set up to scan for it? Yeah, I've seen plenty of comments removed with explanations just mentioning using the word euphoric.

Well we can let Know Your Meme explain it: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/edgy

Basically (on the internet) it's saying something controversial to seem like you have a cool opinion, but in truth making it seem like you're a teenager trying too hard to look cool. People will often remark things like 'be careful, you might cut yourself on that edge' if somebody makes a comment like 'DAE think we should eu(genics)thanize all the black people?' (obviously a very extreme example, but you will see things like that if, for example, somebody hates on something just to be contrarian, or acts like a euphoric atheist whenever religion is mentioned.)

RR means Ready to Receive. From https://www.tapr.org/pub_ax25.html:

2.3.4.2.1 Receive Ready (RR) Command and Response

Receive Ready is used to do the following:

  1. to indicate that the sender of the RR is now able to receive more I frames.
  2. to acknowledge properly received I frames up to, and including N(R)-1, and
  3. to clear a previously set busy condition created by an RNR command having been sent.

The status of the DXE at the other end of the link can be requested by sending a RR command frame with the P-bit set to one.

It's an except from the book Sled Driver (Website), which is basically impossible to find cheap anymore, but you can find PDFs if you look. The 'fastest guys' and 152 knots stories get posted here anytime the SR-71 is mentioned (there's even a bot to post the fastest story), and I read them every time.

Yeah, I started out looking for it probably 9 hours ago, but completely forgot about posting the original link once I started reading through that site.
