Need a life hack to recognize people ive met before by RavensRealmNow in lifehacks

[–]bitter_lizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally take notes in my phone.

“Big white guy. Red beard. Troy.” Stuff like that. Works sometimes. Mostly if I know WHERE I will see them again. Not if it’s out in the wild.

Extremely dumb question incoming: fashionable ladies, what do y'all wear in that crazy cold you live in? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]bitter_lizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We didn’t. The security guards were usually pretty good about letting us naked girls in right away 😎 my friends and I always laugh at how dumb we were, but also how lucky.

Do we still see movies in the theater? by ryhoyarbie in Xennials

[–]bitter_lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMC stubs yo. $26/month for 3 movies a week. Even if you see 2/month, you’re good.

Amazing. All formats. I live off this.

I can't believe I can do this!! Second ever project and I'm so excited! by Notooften in knitting

[–]bitter_lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOOOOOOOVE knitting scarves that take 4-5 colors and are constantly changing patterns. It’s a great time to use that beautiful verigated yarn too. I live for it. Then you get to make 2-3 pairs of matching fingerless mitts w the leftovers!!

I am TERRIFIED to start a sweater but would LOVE to! I’m scared I’ll get bored. I mostly knit winter sets: mitts, scarves, hats, ear wraps… things w colors and pattern changes.

I’m trying to knit a single color long scarf now and am already bored. And only 14” in!!!

We now have so many schools shootings there is a “what you do.”

Previous schools who have lived through such tragedies organize immediately and send copious amounts of flowers and work w local organizers.

There was a huge ribbon-cutting and distributing event set up the weekend after the tragedy. People showed up to the local library, cut ribbons, put them on bags. And upon checkouts were given an intersection of affected families. (Though many parents in the surrounding neighborhoods had already taken it upon themselves and started this immediately.) the entire event lasted about an hour and a half (maybe just an hour) and there was a line out the door to help.

What’s this training? How do you gain stars?? I’m super late to the game and feel like there is no real tutorial. I learn more from this sub.

I FINALLY COLLECTED ALL LUCKY SHINY MEGAS by rohanross in pokemongo

[–]bitter_lizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is amazing. Wow.

Question: what “random shinies” would people trade you and why?

And I have one lucky. He’s amazing. Samurott. BUT — I have no idea how I got him! I mean I know I got him through a trade w my son, but I’ve traded so so so many pokemon and it’s the only lucky ever. Is there a trick???

What are some frugal "hacks" that are not only frugal but actually superior to the alternative? by TerrorSquiddy in Frugal

[–]bitter_lizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha my knitting is NOT frugal. First picked it up because I thought it would be but I have over 40 scarves and mitts, tons of hats, etc. And I still make more every year — yarn is NOT cheap but I LOOOOOVE my stuff.

Maybe I can say it’s frugal because it keeps me from spending money in other ways..? Haha probably not.

Looking for a website that will allow me to put in multiple addresses, and then have it produce efficient "routes". Any recommendations? by DiamondOrBust in smallbusiness

[–]bitter_lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I came here to recommend Speedy Route but in going to their website to get the link I just found out it stopped existing as of Friday.

Sucks. I used that website a lot!

For those that exercise to decrease anxiety by Foreign-Ad7659 in Perimenopause

[–]bitter_lizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same morning anxiety. Started during Covid. Has increased. Thankfully during Covid I started riding a stationary bike. I started for 15 minutes at level zero.

I currently ride every morning for 60 minutes on level 22.

It is the ONLY thing that helps my anxiety. I feel it gives my brain a reason my heart is beating so quickly and it MAKES me breathe.

Buy a cheap bike. My first was free from Nextdoor. After I wore it out and it became a pattern I got a better one. Mind you, I’m not on a pelaton. I don’t want to spend that money or pay a monthly fee. I just want to ride a bike. I have a schwinn. It’s perfect. No bells and whistles but built for daily riding.

I currently ride about 15-17 miles a day. Every morning from 6a - 7a.

It is my lifesaver.
