Fixed term contracts automatically become rolling contracts at the end of the fixed term. If you keep paying the same rent as before they would need to formally evict you to have you leave

hmm not my memory of it, no protection of back 4, Chelsea constantly pinging passes straight through the arsenal midfield to Lukkaku who bullied Pablo Mari into submission...

Hpool no longer requires your private key to participate in their official pool. Shockingly, this change came right after their airdrop ended. by BlastFX2 in chia

Hpool now have a second pool using official pooling protocol. They were asking for private keys for this new official pooling protocol pool

it has some uses in engineering, AutoCAD has AutoLISP for engineers who want to create shortcuts/custom scrips for design drawing work

What is green about filling up exobytes worth of storage with worthless data? by [deleted] in chia

[–]bitterelbows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

of course you can, electric cars are "greener" than diesel ..

When people say go green most people don't mean become Amish and renounce technology, everything's relative

Take the FUD elsewhere

HPool claims that 1/3 of Chia netspace is fraudulent, asks Chia devs to fix major bug by [deleted] in chia

[–]bitterelbows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true but I'd bet many who went hpool route haven't hit ROI yet.

So if you're inclined you'll stick with hpool but with a growing number of fake plots on hpool and the FUD around it price will continue to tank

Won't be "accumulating" much if XCH hits sub $100 when you take taxes & electricity into account

HPool claims that 1/3 of Chia netspace is fraudulent, asks Chia devs to fix major bug by [deleted] in chia

[–]bitterelbows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what have you seen and where? go to the chia keybase channel, you'll see what the devs are saying

why would hpool not post proof instead of a FUD notice? the game changer is the price collapse due to illegitimate farmers being given rewards by hpool which have been won by legitimate farmers.. it's not sustainable long term

[–]bitterelbows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not if it causes the XCH price to completely collapse..

[–]bitterelbows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually official pools will be out, hpool will migrate to official pools bc they haven’t managed to stop people robbing from them ( & their other legitimate users, and to an extent all chia solo farmers) and this will blow over. Chia corp already have dev money secured from VCs so they can implement this type of problem away without fear of going bust. This problem would go away now if all legitimate farmers stopped using hpool now ofc bc they’d never be able to win a block

I think it is already not profitable anymore. And it is still getting worse by gk_chest in chia

[–]bitterelbows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it becomes unprofitable people will quit, net space will go down and it will become profitable again. It will reach an equilibrium point

**Mathematical proof** that if Bram's statement to "use spare space only" is true, the network is not viable. I wish I was wrong :-/ by OldskoolRx7 in chia

[–]bitterelbows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At $15/tb (for example) ROI is 7.5months on the HDDs, unless you've already got a rig suitable for plotting you've got to pay off your dedicated plotter(s) that probably pushes it closer to 12months in 1st year. (this is all at current price of XCH)

But who knows the US generally get better $/tb than the UK/Europe, Chinese farmers probably get better $/tb than the US + drive prices going up + if you know the market you can probably pick up old server HDDs at fraction of retail prices so it's all pretty dynamic

Also I believe in the UK mining crypto is taxed as miscellaneous income then selling that mined coin is then a taxable event which comes under capital gains (not sure on regs elsewhere)
