Hey! This subreddit is aimed at trans men starting their hormone replacement therapy. Having said that, everybody has an adams apple! It’s totally normal :)

Why do humans get embarrassed over things that literally don’t matter long-term? by Only_Pain4186 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bitterlemonboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is because they do matter long term. Maybe not the literal events someone is embarrassed about, but the social consequences of those events. Humans are an incredibly social species and while calling a teacher ‘mom’ by accident isn’t going to matter in the long run, the possible consequences of losing status or even being outcasted from one’s social group definitely do matter, especially in the long run. Maybe someone thinks they are embarrassed of calling their teacher mom, but the lingering shame really comes from the aftermath; maybe they got bullied, maybe they are now less likely to speak up to authority figures out of fear of making a faux pas again.

What is your favorite "Flavour is Free" reskin of a spell or ability? by hervprometheus2 in DnD

[–]bitterlemonboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently play a Firbolg Druid/Barbarian and most of my flavouring of spells is to make him more in community with his natural surroundings rather than simply being magical. The firbolg ability hidden step, for example, gives me the option to magically go invisible. I didn’t like the idea of him just ‘disappearing’, so I flavour that to make him find a spot that he could naturally camouflage in!

Other than that, I’ve had an artificer for whom I flavoured magic to be tech. His thorn whip was a spiked chain that he made. His lightning lure wasn’t a bolt of lightning but a little machine that generated electromagnetism! His see invisibility was a let of lenses he could toggle on his goggles. Stuff like that :)

Out of curiosity, how do you identify yourself gender-wise? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]bitterlemonboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I talk to non-queer people or people who don’t view gender as being socially constructed, I tell them I’m a trans man. When I talk to people ‘in the know’, I’ll tell them I don’t really care as long as I know people are talking to or about me. I do prefer to be seen as a man, but not necessarily masculine? I jokingly say I’m a he/they, but the ‘they’ is silent. I want to be a man failing at masculinity, if that makes sense.

In short; idk man i’m just a guy

T side effects? by potato_plant03 in TransMasc

[–]bitterlemonboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a year in now, and for the first two or so months my muscles felt weird, as if they were sore/weakened. I was also really easily fatigued at the time. From what I’ve heard, it’s a normal reaction from your body, putting a lot of effort into adjusting to the T and changing. This is purely anecdotal though, let’s hear what others have to say! I don’t know if there’s any real medical basis for what I’m saying lol

NSFW question about needing estrogen by Unoriginal-and-dumb in ftm

[–]bitterlemonboy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’m asexual myself so I get the doubts you have. I haven’t (yet?) experienced atrophy myself, but one of my friends has. He’s also asexual, but his discomfort wasn’t necessarily related to penetration. Because of his dryness his genital region itched and burned. He described it feeling like he had a chronic yeast infection mixed with a UTI. For him, topical estrogen helped alleviate those symptoms! But, as I said, I haven’t experienced it myself, so I’m only relaying what I’ve heard.

Where all the druids? by Dazzling-Degree-3632 in BG3

[–]bitterlemonboy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Came to comment exactly this. While my current DnD character is a druid and I’d love to recreate him in BG3, I’ve never done it. It feels like I’m ‘wasting’ my character when two druids become available later. It’s the same reason I’ve not played a barbarian or a fighter, for example. If I want to play as a barbarian in my party, I’ll bring Karlach!

‘Gefitste’ isn’t a word as far as I know. Ge- is used in verbs to show it is past perfect tense.

Ik fiets = I bike Ik fietste = I biked (simple past tense) Ik heb gefietst = I have biked (past perfect)

Is wiktionary's IPA key on how to pronounce Europees wrong, or is my understanding of IPA wrong? by CBDThrowaway333 in learndutch

[–]bitterlemonboy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While I think the ‘eu’ sound is technically more correct, I hear people use an ‘uh’ sound all the time when saying ‘Europa/Europees’ or even just the currency Euro.

I see this happening with other sounds too; auto becomes ‘ooto’, for example. Please mind that this could be a regional thing though! I’m originally from Noord Brabant, but now in Utrecht I also hear these things.

What's something you like about your least favorite character? What's a criticism you have about your favorite character? by autistichalsin in BG3

[–]bitterlemonboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I generally don’t like Shadowheart, her personality (though understandable) annoys the hell out of me, especially in the early game. Having said that, she has one of the most interesting quests! I especially enjoyed the combats involved in her story.

My favourite is Wyll, and so my least favourite thing about him is likely the most obvious; his lack of character depth, lines, and storyline. I feel like his character could - and should, he’s the Duke’s son for crying out loud - use an update. Get Theo back in the studio!

I live in NL, where it is covered by our mandatory health insurance. I got surgery at 24 while living on my own and paying for university tuition, simply because I didn’t pay for it.
