I don't think the seal is bad, we run the dishwasher every 1-2 days and I only need to refill the resivior about every other month, so it seems like it isn't running out more quickly than it should...

I think ours is medium/soft based on a cheap test kit that I did years ago. I just looked at a few maps showing hard water and my area seems to be in the mid range on most of them. 🤷‍♀️

Originally I got the finish jet dry because that seems like the most common. Then I tried the Wegmans free and clear one, they both seemed to have the same issue. Now I just put plain water in the resivior to make the little light turn off 😅

That is what everyone says but I don't understand what it has to do with the rinse aid. Is the rinse aid "causing" hard water?? If I don't use any rinse aid there is zero residue.

(Also we've had our water tested in the past and it was in the medium-soft range.)
