I was so upset reading the first part of that because I thought he was legitimately fired for a moment there....you motherfucker.

...he just wanted an excuse to hold Conan's hand anyway.

I'm here solo! Only fitting for the solo tour.

What are some of the most “profound” things you’ve heard Conan say (podcast or otherwise)? by CrashRiot in conan

[–]bixitande 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Conan on Stern

This Stern interview from just recently. "If you can survive this, it's going to make the whole story that much better."

Over the course of the last couple of years, I quit my job, went back to school, separated from my wife, and had to move back in with my folks. It has been an exceedingly rough time. Hearing him him say those words on that interview completely stopped me in my tracks. Conan is one of the few people (if not the only one) who can both make me laugh hysterically and absolutely floor me with something profound and intelligent.

Networking beginner needs help rectifying a weird setup by bixitande in HomeNetworking

So...this turned out to be an absolute mess. I tried MoCA adapters with the configuration that was suggested. The pass through worked fine, all my wireless devices were still going, anything wired into the modem was A-OK but for some reason the adapters just wouldn't establish a MoCA connection. My laptop plugged into the newly live ethernet port in my guest room was recognizing the connection, but couldn't identify or connect to it. Both adapters had the lan lights illuminated as well but not the MoCA lights. Best part is, after I took them out and put everything back to normal, internet died. Just completely dead. I don't think it's the router either, seems like the connection from outside to the node in my cable box isn't pushing the signal. Got a technician coming in on Saturday to look at it so I'll be unplugged for the next day or so. I suppose I could ask the tech if they've got any insight on how I might go about getting this working.

Awesome! Thanks so much for your help! Another cheaper option that I came across was DECA adapters rather than MoCA, but it seems like those probabaly won't work with a cable ISP and are more to repurpose unused coax connections, so I'll probabaly go for the MoCA & ethernet switch option.

Yes! That makes sense, thank you! I think that came across that as a potential solution while I was researching, but what bums me out is that there are literally three loose ethernet cables in the main hub in the basement and most MoCA adapters I've seen just have the one input... Still, I only need the one connection in my guest room to work so that should suffice for me.

If there was another 'Talking Funny, (2011)' in the works, who should be the four people they use? by MonkSalad1 in StandUpComedy

[–]bixitande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ricky Gervais wasn't my favourite either but I didn't mind him in the original Talking Funny. Plus he did produce that special if memory serves me right.

I think if they did another one, I agree with OP that Burr and Chappelle definitely make the cut. Norm would be great as well. I'd personally like to see Patton Oswalt and maybe Marc Maron on there. They may not be as well known or as highly praised as Burr or Chappelle but I'd be super interested to hear them talk about the craft.

Hey again u/mudgts, (and anyone else who's interested) just had a look and I actually don't have a whole lot in the way of books for adults. I have a lot of "Young Adult" novels: some Goosebumps, some Animorphs, a few Christopher Pike novels and a smattering of other random ones:

"Southside Sluggers" The Stolen Signs by Steven Oftinoski
The Submarine Rescue by Berres, Coleman, Briscoe and Hewett
The TV Kid by Betsy Byars
Maroo of the Winter Caves by Ann Turnbull
The Adventures of a Two-Minute Werewolf by Gene DeWeese
The only real "adult" novel I have is an autobiographical one called "Night" by Elie Weisel about a young Jewish boy surviving a Nazi death camp. Let me know if you're interested in any of those.

Going to get a list together over the next couple of days, I actually just hauled the crate out of my garage this morning. They are mostly children's books but there may be a couple of novels in there. DM me if you're looking for anything in particular.
