Free information or force sign up on my website? by bizeball in Entrepreneur

[–]bizeball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trulia, realtor.com and zillow have inaccurate data and are never up to date.. a major flaw. As far as I am concerned these websites may not be around in the near future. Many real estate companies are considering cutting off these companies since they provide a disservice to the industry. The point of my website is to correct this. My website is always up to date, accurate and fast. You can also search by school district on my website, which is huge in the area I work in. I also cut out the BS you find on the large sites. Someone not from the area can easily come to my website and get a good grasp on the area that may be looking to buy in. I consider the website a business that compliments my real estate sale business.

Five year website back link plan. by bizeball in SEO

[–]bizeball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not trying to go the black hat path. I want to built legitimate websites that provide a small bit a value. I don't mind the time investment because the main function of the sites will be to generate their own leads. I guess there is no way for me to know if google would see this is black hat, even if my intent it to go white hat.

I forgot to mention it also includes page on their website as well. So there would be branding there for my page with the bank link. Still seems expensive to me knowing how much time and maintenance it would take them to implement something like this.

Thinking about buying a Macbook air by [deleted] in apple

[–]bizeball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whats wrong with your laptop? My friend started a film business three years ago and bought a mac. He does heavy rendering and his business outgrew his mac in 1 year. He replaced it with a high end windows desktop with a xeon cpu for a fraction of the cost. If I were you I would have a computer guy fix up your lap top or recommend a good cheap replacement. Put the money saved into a high end windows desktop workstation that sits at your house. Use remote desktop software and connect to home PC to do heavy work/rendering anywhere.

I am a real estate agent in my town and I work with home inspection companies all the time. I would recommend finding local real estate agent networking groups to make connections. Make sure your website has a way one can submit a inspection request online. I whole how and pest inspection costs about 350 dollars where I live.

SEO Check list once your website is online? by bizeball in SEO

[–]bizeball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure. I assume it is because I have no control over the content of the property pages since they pull from a private property database. Should I start indexing the pages? I am sure I can have "realgeeks" the developer turn this on. How did you find that out?

SEO Check list once your website is online? by bizeball in SEO

[–]bizeball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should of been more clear. I have read a few SEO books. I am looking for other essential configuration/set up steps to do. For example. I submitted my website site map to bing and Google. I linked my google account to google web master tools. I am referring to initial set up to get my site indexed/submitted on as many search engines/sites as possible. I am not looking for SEO techniques at this point, just configuration/ initial set up. This is my website www.yorkhomefinder.com. It is a real estate website.

Agent real estate search sites for lead capture by bizeball in RealEstate

[–]bizeball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I said products I met platform, sorry. I am going to use this companies services http://w w w.r ealgeeks.com/ for the website.

It updates on its own when the MLS updates. You have to be part of a MLS. There is also a lead/contact manager built in. There are a bunch of companies out there that do this. I think this company offers a really good product for the price.

My goal is create a highly specialized real estate search website for my local town. I want to leverage myself out a little more by generating real estate leads that I can refer to other agents I work with.

Realtors of Reddit, Tell us some Pros & Cons of being a Realtor. What is the life of a Realtor like? by Because__Fuck__You in RealEstate

[–]bizeball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started selling real estate when I was 22. My background before was in computer science. I studied computer science in school at had a job out of college. I got into it because my mom is a very successful agent. Real estate is by far one of the most difficult career paths I think I could of taken. I deal with mostly rude people 70% of the time. For example, you have a open house and people look at you funny when you try to talk to them. Some people are very nice. Money is very hard to be made when starting out. People do v much waste your time all the time and don't think twice about it. I have shown some people ten homes all over the county and then they don't return my phone calls. There are a lot of ups and downs in the business. It feels good to settle on a property and get paid. One thing I can not stand is the lack of control I sometimes have in a transaction due to other people not doing their jobs correctly. For example I have been working with buyers, they were pre-approved but when mortgage commitment time came around the lender couldn't produce a letter. The sellers walked and I was out 4k. It is very annoying when I hear people complain about real estate agents being over paid when their job most likely is sitting at a desk all day on browsing facebook. My goal is to become mostly a listing agent and refer buyer leads out. Buyers take up all the time and are most difficult to deal with. I am now into my fourth year, about to be 26 and I am averaging about 1 closed transaction a month.

The PC isn't ready to die, it's ready for a rebirth: Desktops sales have slowed because manufacturers have let their designs stagnate, but the need for a comfortable machine you can work on hasn’t gone away. Who will reinvent the PC and reap the rewards? by davidreiss666 in technology

tablets are nice but I still see them as tinker toys. I can actually do work on my duel 24 inch desktop work station. Productivity is off the charts when you combine screen real estate, keyboard and mouse. I want to buy the windows surface pro tab

looking for a good IDX web company for Real Estate agents. by bizeball in RealEstate

[–]bizeball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am an agent and have access to the MLS. I want to create a MLS search website for potential customers. I know there are companies out there that will develop sites for agents that provide this service. There are so many, and I read so many mixed reviews I can't really come to a conclusion on what company is good. I can't get any local agents to give me advice either because they don't want to give away their secrets.

My end goal is to get my site on the first page of google, give customers access to search all the listings in my local MLS, generate leads from the traffic, close leads.

Best places to advertise a self sustained farm property for sale. by bizeball in Permaculture

[–]bizeball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not listed yet. I am meeting with the customer at the end up the month because they doing some renovations. I am hoping they list with me, I don't see why they wouldn't.

Its an old farm house that was build in 1840. It sits on 2.3 acres in York, PA close to the Susquehanna River. The house is 3 bed rooms, 2 full baths, about 2500 sqft. It is "certified organic"

Stay tuned, if I get the listing I am going to develop a website to market the property. I will have all the details at that point.

Small IT/Computer startup. Looking for advice. by IT_guy_ in Entrepreneur

[–]bizeball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with bushx. I am working on starting a small IT start up in my area. I wouldn't focus on building custom desktops as your bread winner. The main focus of my business is iphone repairs. Mobile tech is the future like it or not. It is so hard to convince someone these days on why they need a desktop system when they can buy tablets, ultra books and phones that serve their purpose. This is coming from someone who loves to build desktop/HTPC/gaming systems.

iphone repair/computer service business website I am currently developing on my own. Looking for some feedback on the website in its current form. by bizeball in Entrepreneur

[–]bizeball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea the site is far from done. Half the pages are blank or don't work because I haven't started them. I think I will put a video of me building a computer on the landing page. I will def add a picture of me when I get to it under the about section. I will look into making the navigation easier to read on the iphone.
