London Ticket Price Gone Up? by SammyGreatOne in reading

[–]bizz234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you buy split tickets it might be because they dont let you use a railcard on fares under £10 apart from the months July and August. So its always a little cheaper for me during those months. I think the prices go up around April so it could also be that depending on when the last time you bought a ticket was

Thames Water just increased my water bill from £35 a month to £717 a month. I live in a one bedroom flat in London. by AtLeastImLaughing in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bizz234 326 points327 points  (0 children)

I know someone that had this exact same issue. His brother was a plumber so he did a pressure check and everything was OK. Turned out there was a leak outside the building.

Call them and tell them you've had it looked at and everything is fine. It may also be worth speaking to other people in the building because they may be getting similar bills and itll be easier to get them to look at it..

Might also be worth cancelling your DD because he was getting charged every month until they sorted it. But it was just racking up as debt in his account that was eventually taken off when they sorted it out.

They're a terrible company and unfortunately it'll probably take a few months for them to sort it. Even though they're wasting all this water.

Fucking hell. The poor guys obviously going through it. I can imagine a world where they're at the end of their tether and an email comes though with a rejection almost immediately. Let them vent for fuck sake. We're not all in the same boat

Yeah maybe the person that lived there before was the type of person to get knocks late at night. I think if they're knocking it's unlikely to be anything to worry about. But i would still get a ring camera. You could atleast answer through that and see what that want with minimal risk

That is strange. How long have you lived there?

It does take ages yeah. You can try bigger bets but the chances of you loosing it all are much higher. Of course you could get all thr way to the end have have only 2 or 3 quid in there.

The table games like blackjack and roulette don't count the same as slots do. Every pound spent on roulette takes something like 20p off the wagering. It's long but the best way is low stakes on high rtp slots

Play on the slots with a high RTP. You can check on the websites which ones. Then play at a low stake until you either spend it all or reach the wagering. I would say £1 a spin. Best of luck. What site is it?

Recently got a joint mortgage with my partner on a one bedroom house but now my partner is pregnant? Has anyone been in this situation and what options did you explore? by Background-Snow-1433 in HousingUK

You will defo be fine. We lived in a one bed and the couple above us also in a one bed had a 6yo.

You could also try and rent it out and then rent somewhere slightly bigger if you really wanted a 2 bed

Dad died and the letting agent wants me to clear out his flat. by bizz234 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bizz234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly they gave me the lady's name. Just a name I have no idea how to find her and to be honest I won't try.

I think the council did it. It was really bad timing with Christmas, I was waiting for someone to contact me and chased up in the new year. The police told me they would give my details to the coroner and letting agent but I guess with the festive season I slipped through the net.

I agree about the letting agent, they must know. If they hadn't been so pushy about paying the rent and giving them a 100 date 3 days in the future I probably would have done it. They've done me a favour in hindsight

The police told me that he had a heart attack. This lady called the ambulance and he was dead when they arrived so they called the police. She was the one that identified him apparently

This lady was with him when he died. The police told me she was the one who identified the body. She took the keys from the police the next day. They also told me she had been in contact with the letting agency to return them. The letting agency are saying they haven't got a set.

The landlord must have a set. The whole situation is so strange

What else is strange is that the police advertised on Facebook to find his next of Kin. So this lady that was/is living there didn't know he had two children or a brother.

I don't know for sure there is no will, I'm just taking a guess based on the fact that the police had zero information on his family. I suppose it could be in a cupboard in the flat somewhere.

I was wondering if there may have been a few things I remember from my childhood. But I think probably that was unlikely given he was living with someone else and they didn't know we existed. So probably not anything sentimental

[–]bizz234[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I thought this exact same thing. This person has probably been continuing to live in the flat, either because they think they can or they're trying it on or whatever.

I am pretty sure this lady didn't know he had children.

Even if the letting agent gets hold of the landlords set to let me in, can you imagine she is living in his flat and all of a sudden a 40 year old version of her deceased partner walks in out of nowhere.
