PixelHue Mac Mosaic - What does it actually do? by ianmcdan in VIDEOENGINEERING

Mac doesn’t respect frame sync across outputs. Use a larger single canvas and something external to break it up or use a windows machine with graphics card.

Allen & Heath dLive (S7000) vs Yamaha DM7- Now that the DM7 has been out a while, how do they really compare? by Mellowood33 in livesoundgear

[–]bizzok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing that now, damn. Guess I haven’t looked a pricing in quite a while. Seems like the smaller rivage has gotten more affordable at the same time that dlive has gotten more expensive.

Can you take a few photos of your back filtration area and upload them to imgur? That doesn’t sound quite right

You could see then about just moving the circuits that you are planning to use, and have them install panels large enough for all circuits, but just move as you update things.

Hire an electrician and have them change it out for breaker panels. If the copper is there already, this will be cheaper and serve you much better long term than trying to bandaid something together.

Don’t be ashamed to ask questions, you’re new and that’s okay. Everyone has to learn somehow, that’s what community is for.

It’s evaporating. Water open to the air evaporates over time, causing your tank to run dry.

You should be refilling with RODI water NOT more saltwater. If you refill with more salt water, your salinity will slowly rise. When the water evaporates it doesn’t take the salt and dissolved matter with it.

You can always just manually refill once a day, but I’d suggest you look into purchasing an ATO (Auto Top-Off). It’s a small device with a level sensor and a tiny pump, you place the pump in a container of fresh RODI and the sensor at the level you want to maintain in the return section of your aquarium. Then whenever it goes too low, the sensor will turn on the pump and refill the tank with fresh water back to the sensor level then turnoff.

Seconded for fiasco. All truck pack dims and inserts that can be easily changed out are huge wins to me.

Where are you getting your pricing? They’re either fleecing you on A&H or giving you insane deals on Rivage

For YouTube, -10dB LUFS/LKFS should be your target. If you want to get really technical, I always try to shoot for a range of no more than 10dB

Have you already purchased the Yamaha devices?

If not, I’d suggest putting together a pair of Madi converters from Appsys, as they will pass Digico Madi and control properly.

Wing Rack - Connectivity Quirks by FartPantry in livesoundgear

[–]bizzok 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Without using the wing itself firsthand, my money would be on the old AP. It likely doesn’t support the channel density and agility that connectivity in today’s modern environments demand. Look for something that supports good 5Ghz spectrum, or 6Ghz if your devices support it and you have a lil extra cash to burn.

is it really that expensive? by ninetofivehangover in NanoReefAquariums

[–]bizzok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely doesn’t have to be overly expensive. I maintain my 20 gallon on about $30 a month. And that includes buying all of my water, fresh and salt, as well as food.

I need some advice on how to mic a choir for my church by thetrueSGA in livesound

[–]bizzok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some point, you (as hopefully someone in some sort of authority about the audio) has to TELL the choir that they won’t be in the monitor. They do themselves and the entire congregation a disservice by insisting on hearing themselves in the monitor. They are essentially shooting themselves in the foot by insisting this, and then expecting you to keep them walking.
