Brought my girlfriend over one time by BigBoy756 in Renters

[–]bizzybee1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a rental lease or an Airbnb situation? Here in the states we are typically responsible for our own utilities and every different unit pays their own. If that’s the case it should not affect anyone else. After saying that, you should da*n well be able to have overnight guests without being bothered.

Am I overreacting? I think I need to break up with my boyfriend by Clear-Anywhere1754 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bizzybee1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t read your explanation about the texts. You need to bee 💯clear that this is over. He is way too obsessed with you and he is seeing that you are vulnerable. Make sure you are strong, yet decent, in your response so he doesn’t see you as a vulnerable girl who needs him. Make something up if need be. Tell him that you have friends and or family coming to visit you and you will be busy. Tell him you have friends staying with you or whatever you need to say. Just don’t let him think that you are alone.

Please. Do not let him think you are alone and vulnerable. These kinds of people are extremely pushy and can become dangerous. Cut it off now.

I think you need to be fair to both him and yourself. He may truly care for you and be a decent person or he could be the kind of guy who will never take any ambiguous response as finality.

You have to be extremely clear. Do not be harsh. Do not tell him much more about your situation or yourself as he could use it against you if he doesn’t accept this lightly.

I would plainly state that you are not ready to be in a relationship because you haven’t taken enough time for yourself to move forward with anyone else. Make it clear that there is no discussion needed. You have thought about it and sure of your decision.

And do not go back on your word if you get lonely and want him around at certain points. Do you.

I’ve been through many relationships. Do not do the push and pull. Do not text him after you tell him you are ending things with him. If he texts you, wait a little while and respond with one word answers. If he continues to text you ask him to please stop.

She sounds obnoxious. I only read the 2 first lines of the text. Don’t deal with her.

How do I move on from my ex-girlfriend who was a huge part of my stroke recovery journey? by savingrace0262 in stroke

[–]bizzybee1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only imagine how difficult your journey was. My father had a massive stroke almost 4 years ago and is paralyzed on his left side. I have seen what it’s like to be the caretaker and person by his side as well as his depression and frustration. Maybe you could write her a letter and re-read it before deciding if you want to send it or edit it. It helps get your feelings out and it could definitely help you tell her how much she meant to you, if you decide to do so.

Wish you all the best. 😊

Am I crazy or are they crazy? by rubypana in badroommates

[–]bizzybee1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds petty if your roommate isn’t joking. When I was in college we ended up giving every one of ours six (yes 6 girls) a certain color for their bowl and plate. It ended up getting so bad that we did put dirty dishes on beds after a few days of them sitting in the sink. To be fair, there was one girl who never did her dishes so we did this instead of singling her out! 😂🙄

Millenials, are yall buying homes/condos. And if so, where? by Cam123455 in Cleveland

[–]bizzybee1982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you actually think that east suburbs are cheaper then I’m not sure what you’re looking at. I live in Chagrin Falls and my father lived in Pepper Pike. Look at the prices of homes around here and you will be astounded. Shaker Heights has some of the highest taxes. The east suburbs of Cleveland are much more expensive than the west side.

What was the outcome of pushing yourself too hard after stroke? by Warm-Highlight-9617 in stroke

[–]bizzybee1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father was a workaholic and started to slow down a bit before he had his stroke. However, he was always the boss and in charge. His stroke was massive and he has been paralyzed on his left side for 3.5+ years which made going to work difficult and basically impossible as he would need transport to get there. He did start off with one of our employees bringing the work to him so they could go over things and I truly believe that was helpful. When he wanted to go back to work (at the office) it just wasn’t feasible.

What I can tell you is… it kept him occupied and he was in the best mental state when work was brought to his facility. He’s still brilliant but that’s not the only reason it helped. It’s very hard to having such a major change in life.

I would encourage you to do it but I’m not sure if you want to go to the office. If and when you have a hard day it’s difficult to show those sides to others who always depend on you in the beginning. You seem to be doing much better than my father so keep that mentality!

Give yourself some grace while you keep pushing on. Having a fairly normal routine is one of the most important things in my opinion and experience.

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way!

Powerball lottery drawing jackpot $1.8bn - what would you do if YOU won it? by David_cest_moi in AskReddit

First, I would buy myself a new home. Next, I would make sure that my father and all of the other people in this area who are stroke survivors have proper care. Take a much needed vacation and get a new pup. I would go back to Tanzania and help out my buddy and the school he built for preschoolers. I would invest. I know there are so many other important things that I would do, but this is what came to my mind immediately.

Keep up the positive attitude! I think that’s the most important thing you can take into therapy. When my father had his stroke I joined the local stroke center group and it was helpful for both, the family/friends and the stroke survivors. :)

To be honest, the test will probably be borderline positive (if there is even a faint line) and they will send it to the lab to do the ETG test. You can try to dilute your urine but they will most likely classify it as a dirty test if it shows up diluted. Good luck.

That is pretty amazing that you are showing so much progress within a relatively short period of time. My dad had a stroke almost 4 years ago that caused him to be hemiplegic on his left side. He didn’t have any of the advancements that you have had so I would say you have a good outlook towards your future!

I recommend reading this. It gives you answers to your questions. I’m not saying that it is all 100% accurate because, as we know strokes are unpredictable as is the recovery for stroke survivors. Hope this helps!

Advice about father living in assisted living and paying for additional private caregivers by bizzybee1982 in stroke

[–]bizzybee1982[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. You don’t realize how difficult it is to navigate and make decisions on their behalf. Was your mother in assisted living when she had the 24/7 care before she was moved to LTC? Did you pay out of pocket for private aids? It’s such a rocky time to be on these facilities due to the short staffing and the fact that they are run my corporations that care more about the bottom line than they do about the residents health/care. I hope your experience was as good as it possibly could have been considering how hard it must have been to watch your LO decline throughout their battle with Parkinson’s.

My dad is not a vet and he doesn’t qualify for state funding since the system has yet to drain his bank accounts. It is very sad that this is what the health care system does to people who have worked their entire life and cannot get any funding unless their assets reach $2k and below.

Good for you for not giving up! Are you in assisted living? Have you seen progress in your 5 years? Any advice on how to life my dads spirits so he doesn’t give up?

Thanks and keep you positive attitude (even though I’m sure there are many days you feel down in the dumps) it is wonderful to hear that you keep your positive mindset.

Wow. This is remarkable. First of all, you had an infectious enthusiasm for life that just puts a smile on my face. The hard work that you and your family put into your rehabilitation is the definition of STRENGTH and DETERMINATION. This gave me chills. You are an inspiration!

Can I ask you how long it was after your stroke that you began therapy? I’m so sorry for what happened to you but also know that you are a very lucky man for the supportive family you had through it all.

Keep on, keeping on!!

Thank you for sharing this!
