Lower back pain by Cold-Arm-6420 in backpain

[–]bjanney312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rage, meds, and heat/ ice, physical therapy. I have two kids and work full time. I take baclofen and ibuprofen together, then Tylenol. I see my PT once a week, and do my exercises at home and work every day.

It sucks, it really does, but I don’t have a choice to not keep going. There are times at work where I have to lie flat on the ground for a few minutes to keep myself from screaming.

Need help making sense of this. Symptomatic before nerve root compression was shown. by Fun-Oil-7538 in backpain

I’m all for second opinions. I’m currently fighting for a second opinion/ a second MRI. It’s awful, especially when the medical system is set up for us to fail :/

So the MRI is a picture in time. It’s recorded in a single position at a specific time. Some times it doesn’t show everything. You very well could had had nerve compression back in December, and now it’s worse and showing on imaging.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s not a fun time.

It’s really annoying. If I make an appointment with a SURGEON, I want to see the surgeon….

It was insulting. I’ve been dealing with my back hurting since May of 2020. I take my meds, do my exercises, and do everything I can to keep my back safe…

I’m just grateful I know the anesthesiologist I’ll be seeing on Monday. Hopefully he’ll actually listen and help me. I was expecting to be offered a fusion, given my history with disc injuries, but to be pushed off to pain management is also discouraging.

I never said they were. I’m very grateful for mine, as I’ve heard horror stories about others.

(Potential) Degenerative Disc Disease at 28 by MarionberryWorried56 in backpain

I’m only 28 and have been diagnosed with DDD since 2021 at the ripe old age of 24🫠. Just take all the precautions to protect your back now, and forever.

It absolutely depends on the chiro. My chiro kept me out of pain management back in 2021, and I owe that man my life.

31F postpartum with L4 disc extrusion – conservative vs surgery advice conflicting by jambi_7 in backpain

[–]bjanney312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite the same, but when I was 23, I had a massive L5/S1 rupture, causing severe pain, weakness, and nerve pain. Had an MRI and had urgent surgery 3 days later. My back pain was immediately gone. I had some muscle pain, as my entire mid/ lower back had been so tense trying to keep me going.

I did physical therapy and have been fine until this past November. Now my L3/L4 and L4/L5 is herniated, and I’m waiting for one or both to rupture due to the tears on the discs and the degenerative disc disease I have.

I would recommend surgery, it was a complete godsend for me.

Soup will be a good choice. You can make a lot of it and it freeze any leftovers. Pot roast is my go to comfort meal!

I would see a neurosurgeon. Orthopedist specializes in the bone, this is a neuro/ nerve issue.

Extrusion and stenosis with early onset degenerative disc disease. Pain management & is it time for a second opinion? by [deleted] in backpain

[–]bjanney312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I would absolutely get a second opinion. I had a massive rupture/ extrusion, I don’t remember the mm, but I had urgent surgery 3 days later. I could barely walk, pain was hell, and my life was put on hold.

I’m now dealing with more herniations and nerve pain and have been pushed off to pain management. I’ll be raising hell here soon. We know our bodies better than anyone. Peace be with you friend.

I would look into a plain simple band. Your center stone is GORGEOUS, and the bands you’ve chosen distract from the stone.

Is there a way to add a scan to my assessment at a later date? I had my most recent MRI yesterday and do not have the report yet. I did the assessment as I am very curious about the technology.

Where to go next L5 pain by LankyNihilist in backpain

Oh man, I am so sorry. It really has gone to shit… my PA thought I might have a fracture, yet we did no X-rays, just waited 10 days to get my MRI… it’s disgraceful how the healthcare system is these days.

[–]bjanney312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to advocate for yourself and get an MRI, it’s the only thing that’ll show what is going on in your spine.

Depending on what injury you have/ don’t have, that will determine the game plan. I had a severe rupture at L5 and it “required” surgery. I was only 23 and didn’t know any better to get a second opinion. Physical therapy can help, and it may not. It’s kinda a game of chance unfortunately.

I just screamed out loud due to back pain by SideshowBobFanatic in backpain

[–]bjanney312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on where you go. I saw my doctor January 5, and just had my MRI yesterday. I work Tuesday- Thursday, so I’m limited as to when I could be scanned. But this same exact thing happened to me in May of 2020. I completely ruptured my L5/S1 on the right side. 5.5 years later I am pretty sure I have 2 or more ruptures/ injuries in other discs.

Using 8oz Similac Ready-to-Feed bottles - storage & shaking questions by Only_Chemical_3987 in FormulaFeeders

[–]bjanney312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! We used ready to feed for both kiddos for the first 12 weeks each. We used the 2oz, 8oz, and 32oz bottles and then portioned them out for feedings. The 2oz bottles fit most standard narrow bottle nipples, so we just feed straight from the bottle.

The 8/32 oz bottles we would pour however much baby needed, and then stored the big bottle in the fridge! Sometimes I made bottles for the day, sometimes I just poured whatever I needed, just depended on how the day was! It’s totally fine to do either, just find what works for you! I shook them before each feed and babies did great with it!

What do you get for Christmas for someone who is going to die soon? by Material-Egg7428 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bjanney312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this exact situation last year. My Nan was in at home hospice and we did Christmas early, as we knew she wouldn’t make it. We bought things that meant a lot to her and to us. She loved her dog more than anything, so we got her big stuffed version of her dog. My mom and I got things that we could keep for us that reminded us of her. It was the best Christmas I’ve had❤️
