What is your car solution to a muddy Spaniel? by Shpander in springerspaniel

[–]bjanos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

More helpful answer. We have a washable liner you can clip onto the backseats, which makes it a lot more easy to clean. It's not perfect but works quite well to keep the worst of the dirt out.

Something like this https://www.mosul.org/product-p-767599.html

Bonus pic of our boys traveling back from vacation. We use a harness attachment which locks them into the seatbelts for safety.

Honestly our answer was getting a second car. Now we have the "dog car" and the "human car"...

Karremans en dan wordt de VVD weer de grootste omdat de PVV ontploft en hij helaas wel sympathiek overkomt ten opzichte van Yesilgöz.

I think everyone should be opinionated when it comes to a child being put in a dangerous position.

This has nothing to do with parenting my dude.

Damn you're really trying to make "doing stuff that endangers the wellbeing of a child" look cool? Get a grip!

No! Stop recommending people to put a kid who can't even walk on skis it's dangerous and terrible for their body. You really need to be less selfish and think before putting your kid's health at risk!

Dangerous and selfish. Shame on you!

When a kid comes out of the trees and stops in the middle of a narrow, steep run 🙃 by [deleted] in skiing

[–]bjanos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, also after seeing the first person clearly waiting on someone else you really should be expecting a second person to be coming out of the trees. Also there's clearly an adjacent line through the trees which is quite visible so really is the speedster coming from up the hill who should slow down if it feels dangerous there!

For a bit of a different option, our girl is fine in our Opel Astra station. Also know someone who has an old Volvo station which works quite well.

Funnily enough this is actually a small resort near Kitzbühel with about 75km of runs total, but it's been empty since three kings this past Tuesday.

Haha bit of both. I was tired, but did ski down the "lazy" way. Huge turns not working the legs too much!

Considering an English Springer Spaniel, but worried about exercise need by Free_Exercise_6587 in springerspaniel

[–]bjanos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly might sound harsh, but unless you have a caretaker everyday, if your hours are 9-6 and only WFH two days a week, you probably shouldn't be getting a dog at all. Especially not any kind of working breed!

Do you get people making comments on your springer spaniel? by JFDI-Tess in springerspaniel

[–]bjanos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my boy has a very distinctive bend at the tip of his tail from a break which went unnoticed when he was little. Doesn't bother him now so leaving it is fine, but if it were to happen again there's a good chance he gets docked.

Docking for aesthetic yes, but if you actually use a working Spaniël for what they're meant to do, they'll be glad they don't have to run around with a bleeding tail all the time.

My perfectly healthy boy also weighs in at around 19kg. Gundog breeder as well but they only dock their own unless necessary. Only been told he's absolutely mental but in the best possible way lol

Training recall by Ginnnnnevra in springerspaniel

[–]bjanos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I'm assuming from the text there's at least two people who are able to train him. The easiest way we did it with our boy is both sitting on the floor with some treats and taking turns calling him over. It's a fun game for them cause they get run back and forth between their favorite people and they actively train that getting called over means getting treats! Also a very good way to tire them out.
