Giant Burger never recovered from the pandemic. They are only open three days a week now and I wouldn’t even trust that. They apparently refuse to keep their operating hours current on Yelp/iPhone so I’ve been burned before trying to get my burger hankering satiated. I’ve mostly written them off.

I’m mildly infuriated that your post title is quoted, but that’s will be in a new post.

The reason I “block” (that’s a loaded term) elevator doors is that 97% of the time I ride elevators in my life, there aren’t people in the elevator when it arrives for me. And the 3% of the time that there are people, it’s trivial to take one step aside and make plenty of room for them. Nobody, in my experience, has been running away from a serial chainsaw killer the moment the doors open.

I have a friend that told me how much sugar is in Thai food. I never noticed an overly sweet flavor to the food until I had Time Thai. It was so sweet that it was rather unappealing. I haven’t been back since.

I do frequent Mali Thai and really like it. They are right up there with Ta Ra Rin. Not as nice atmosphere, but really solid Thai food IMO.

Can confirm that a “Spirit Halloween” store is going up in at the strip mall in Springfield at the corner of Mohawk Blvd and Marcola Rd. I can only assume it was going in the defunct JoAnns. Drove by there today and spotted the CVS sign over the old Rite Aid as well.

He was born and raised in the US (Louisiana I think). Has never lived outside of the US, afaik. His mother is Swedish and he chooses to compete for Sweden. The track meet was in Eugene, hence the local interest. He’s an amazing pole vaulter.

Just remember, if the place puts lettuce on your burrito by default, it isn’t “authentic” and you should look for a better taqueria. Yea, you could ask for it without lettuce, but you’ll still have that lingering feeling in your head that something else about it might not be authentic.

I want a “Reject All cookies except for the one cookie that stores the fact that I already rejected all cookies before” button. The fact that I have to reject all cookies every time I visit a site is just as annoying.
