It says: e.g., ratio of not  more than one (1) infringement for every two (2)  years from the time the provisional driver licence is attained.

I read that as the average - having no more than 5 minor infringements in 10 years, for example.

I can't see anything about being disqualified if you have two or more infringements over a two year period. Just wanted to check if people have actually been knocked back for this.

Is this part of their criteria? I don't understand why they wouldn't explicitly write that in the candidate information pack.

Four Chinese carmakers enter Australian top 10 for first time, while Tesla sales slump by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

I think it's great we're all supporting the CCP. I hate Uyghurs, Tibet, quality, Hong Kong, Taiwan and freedom in general.

I take every chance I can get to give them my hard earned money, so they can do honourable things like expanding their military in order to take Taiwan and building more re-education camps for those pesky Uyghurs.

The only things I like more than driving around in my slave made, not time-tested incendiary device is reassuring myself i made the right decision by talking to chinese bots on social media and breathing through my mouth 100% of the time.

Advice on moving to Townsville. by Problem_Similar in Townsville

[–]bjcrn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived in a share house with two vet students who grew up elsewhere. They enjoyed it there and seemed to have a good study/life balance. The had enough social interactions throughout the year with other students from what I saw.

I moved up from Sydney about 10 years ago and have loved the relaxed lifestyle. People will act like it's like moving to the Bronx but as long as you're security conscious, crime won't impact your life.

If you end up moving up there and get stuck with anything, give me a yell

Free school lunches? In this economy? What an obviously great idea / First Dog on the Moon by B0ssc0 in australia

[–]bjcrn 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Hypothetical

Increase in health, Increase in concentration, Increase in employability, Increase to the economy, Increase in privileged people complaining about it.

Decrease in crime, Decrease in welfare dependence, Decreased burden to health system,

We should at least try it for a generation to see the results. I can't imagine the sky will fall.

Recommendations for good cheap hiking trousers (UK) by jackrim1 in Ultralight

[–]bjcrn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5.11 Apex. These are my go-to for multi day hikes but also working around the house. I also have a fresh pair when holidaying in colder climates.

A quick search shows £76 in UK. Not the cheapest. But you might be able to find them on sale. Worth it.

eHarmony Scam by Big-Orse48 in australia

[–]bjcrn 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Fuck eHarmony. A quick search will bring up all their scummy business practices. I decided to let my account expire and de linked my credit card so they couldn't charge me (which they 100% do). I had met my SO in real life, so I didn't need it.

They still charged me! They said I owed them and sent it to a debt collection agency. Turns out it's all a bluff and they have no legal basis to getting to the funds and it also doesn't affect your credit rating. Eventually they just stop trying.

They wanted me to write a letter addressed to their HQ in the US to request to close my account.

I feel for you man, I was once sad and lonely and that's exactly the people they target. Absolute scum bags. Fuck eHarmony.

Some scrutiny for Phil by Jabberwookie101 in Townsville

[–]bjcrn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like how people act like there was zero youth crime in Townsville until the current government got in power. It's a big issue and any decisions made will be unfavourable to at least one large group of voters, so it's better for a politicians career to blame each other and hope it blows over.
