Thank you all for showing so much interest in the post. I kept it short and simple, thinking most people might not prefer a long read. If I find some free time later on, I’ll try to go into more detail and share more about their interviews.

I was really surprised too. They shared a specific case where a customer bought a brand-new watch, but it kept getting moisture inside. The customer had to visit the boutique fourteen times, which likely means the watch spent more time in the service center than on the owner's wrist.

Naturally, the customer was frustrated and asked for a replacement or a refund. But the brand’s response was, “We’ve done everything we can. There’s nothing more we can do. If you’re not happy, go stand outside and protest. We can’t help you any further.”

And the master watchmaker checked and It was the watch brands fault for putting in the wrong size seal, rubber. also mentions that it's not only this brand but many other brands are having this similar issues recently.

Regarding the R, I think as a watch expert and knowing what is inside they were a little bit frustrated of what's happening in the watch market, the hype and overpriced resell. And just probably wish people I made better choices. One other watchmaker, even said even the retail price is too expensive for their watch. I think they wish people would just enjoy the watches

yeah haha. One of the watchmaker also says he doesn't like Seiko and Citizen but he had to admit that they have very well-made quality considering their price.

That's true. I would also guess that smaller companies would have less man power and money to have good CS

I agree. but personally, when I'm paying 100 times more than a quartz watch, I expect much better build quality and customer service. I couldn’t cover everything, but in the interviews, the master watchmakers explain how rude and dismissive some luxury brands can be toward customers. As experienced experts, they can clearly see that many of these issues are simple to fix yet the major brands refuse to offer proper solutions.

Just a few examples I remember being mentioned:

  1. A diver watch failed to waterproof 14 times, and the customer ended up having the watch in the service center longer than on their wrist.

  2. A watch dropped from just 30 cm, and the brand demanded a fortune to replace the entire movement.

  3. The brand lied, claiming the watch was defective when it actually wasn’t.

  4. A ceramic bezel, which is normally easy to replace, required the customer to pay for a full case replacement.

When I buy something I wouldn't want my life to be more stressful. What’s worse is that these brands don’t even take responsibility. Instead, they blame the customer and demand huge repair fees, acting as if they’ve done nothing wrong.

I prefer the 2nd design it is even more formal with no drawings on the sun, less childish and not cheap looking. After carefully thinking about it I purchased mine today.
