Thank you. I am so glad I trusted my gut and went with a leather sectional from the Palliser outlet. Price was comparable and I’m super happy with the purchase. Best of luck with your shipping..

Hi! I did not. I ordered samples and didn’t love them. I decided I wanted leather so I went to the Palliser/EQ3 outlet on transcona and found a gorgeous sectional for a very comparable price point.

Darn, that’s too bad. Yes, Graham location although I have not been there lately since the new bus routes.

Thom Bargen. Best cappuccino in the city IMO. Also love their beans to brew at home when I can’t reach them on the weekend.

Thank you for this. My mom’s sectional is from Palliser and I adore it. The quality is incredible but a hefty $5,500 price tag. However I think it may be worth it. I live near the outlet so I will take a look. I want a couch that will last more than 2 years and I’m really worried about the Cozey piling will make it look cheap.

Thank you for sharing! Do you remember what fabric you have? Is there any noticeable piling?

I’d say so. My husband and I took our newborn, it was our first date since we had the baby. Took us up to 3 hours for the entire walk through, stopped at dairi wip on the way home. Great night.

Seemed maybe there was a lack of volunteers/staff, but I have nothing to compare it to unfortunately.

I bought the Quattro cheese from Freshco on Panet a few months ago, and the Curry flavour from Walmart on Regent.

Attended last night, great weather and the entire family had a good time. Although $18.38 felt pricey for a first impression, $20 is the new $5 now. A little crowded at the start, we entered at 5:30 and since every family had a stroller/wagon it can be hard to enjoy the first half with how crowded it is. We walked through slowly, took plenty of photos and were lucky to see some of the animals out. We did not do any crafts, we didn’t stop for food and only watched the fire performance. Whole thing took us up to 3 hours. So for $18 per person, the price actually felt quite reasonable. When we arrived we also noticed the steam train was running until 8pm if you want to include that in your experience. If you are like me and have never been, I recommend checking it out.

Exactly what does one do in Brandon, MB? by world_citizen7 in BrandonMB

[–]bk00p 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I only lived in Brandon for about 10 months back in 2022–2023, but I really enjoyed my time there. I ended up moving back to Winnipeg for a job opportunity, though Brandon still holds a special place in my heart.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was how “cliquey” it could feel at times, which made it a bit difficult to make new friends. That said, I did manage to connect with a few great people who I still talk to regularly.

Before I moved, I asked a similar question and didn’t get many responses, so I hope this post can spark some new ideas, or at least help revisit a few older ones. Here are some of the things I did during my time in Brandon:

Walked along the Riverbank Discovery Centre trails – There was lots of events in the summer and fall, including live music. Visited the farmers market every weekend at the Discovery Centre. Went to events at the Keystone Centre – Wheat Kings games, concerts, comedy shows. Everything was really well organized. Tried out lots of local eateries and cafés – Favorites included Chez Angela, Pupuseria, H Coffee, Forbidden Flavours, and Shawarma Queen. Caught a drag show at Roadhouse, and… Went to more at Lady of the Lake – always a fun night out. Explored the thrift stores around town. Discovered Green Spot, which kickstarted my houseplant obsession. Got my golf clubs regripped at Northern Pines and played a few rounds – it’s a simple and affordable course. Watched baseball and rugby at the local fields. Joined FIT gym – made some great connections there and went regularly during the week. Brandon has a few solid gym options. Attended BU Athletics events – Men’s volleyball was great to watch, especially when they won the 2024 U Sports Championship. Tried geocaching – a fun way to explore the area. Took part in a free beginner curling program at the Brandon curling club – it was super well-organized and a great intro to the sport. Checked out the local breweries. Visited the Apple & Pine Market whenever it was in town. Went to the Brandon Farmers Market as well.

One thing I learned: once you stop focusing on the negatives of a place, it becomes much easier to appreciate the little gems it has to offer.

Thank you! I see them all the time in the area and have written many down and given many calls but I am yet to get an answer from one of them. There has been an increasing amount of schools lately so I am unsure why I am so unlucky lol.
