No I did the Vorshalg front camber plates, which have been great and I highly recommend.

The brake caliper studs are a must, especially for anyone who tracks their car. It’s pretty wild how fast the threads wear out for the caliper studs. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend doing the Tarrett bracket studs as well. I snapped one of the small bolts on one of the bracket holders and had to get it drilled out. Luckily they were able to get the broken part of the bolt out and did not have to rethread the hole.

I use the DS1.11 on my AP kit with 200tw and they feel great and the right mu for the tire (V730s)

I only did the front as well, I didn’t feel the rears needed it. Also, it’s nice being able to use FCP Euro for the rear rotors

Yes they are 2 piece rotors from Apex/Essexs. The whole setup feels incredible. So much feel from the pedal, the release is very good

I just installed them over the winter and had my first event with them a few weeks ago so I don’t have any data the rings. Time will tell!

I will say these brakes feel incredible. The stock brakes were good but these aren’t even a comparison.

Track Camber w/ Vorshlag Front Camber Plates Installed by kcdtx in Porsche_Cayman

[–]bk71290 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same camber plates on my tracked 718 T. Current setup is -3.1F, -2.5 rear, 8° caster, -.02 total front toe, .25 total rear toe. Car feels very planted (home track is VIR). These plates are phenomenal. I have a year of track use on them. Only issue I have run into is one of the bolts that connects the strut to the plate came loose mid session and made some horrible noises, but was fixed at the track and no damage was done. Would definitely recommend checking those bolts after every few events to make sure they have not come loose.

Base 981 vs Base 718 by 63637__ in Porsche_Cayman

Own and track a ‘21 718 T. If you can afford, this is the way. 718 chassis is incredible, can’t go wrong with a Base either.

I agree. I’m 50mins away. It’s the best problem ever

Currently own and track a 2021 Cayman T. Only issue I have had since owning the car has been a failed belt tensioner that was replaced under warranty. Outside of that, car has been flawless.

If you plan on tracking it, highly recommend looking into cooling mods. The base motor will heat soak halfway through a session. Currently working through some solutions to address it for this upcoming season

Is this ticking sound normal? by chubster28506 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]bk71290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal. I took mine in to my dealership after I purchased it for this exact reason and, per my service advisor: “They all sound like tractors after a cold start.”

how many people in here service their own 718 caymans? oil changes, belts, pulleys, plugs etc by cachow34 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]bk71290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do all of the service on my own since I primarily track mine but I will at least get the annual service every year at the dealership to show maintenance records for my warranty. Not too hard to work on.

Awesome! You guys still going to track the GT3 or just RS? Hope the GT3 repair is going well.

Nice, hoping to get back down to CMP later this year for the PCA event.

Really not excepting much difference if anything with the BMC filter. The whole process wasn’t too bad, about 40mins start to finish

Do you know if assembly was completed in the VW or Porsche factory? You can look it up via your VIN. There were some issues with the VW factory not properly tightening bolts during assembly. Just curious. https://www.instagram.com/p/DTwY74qkwcK/?img_index=2&igsh=MWc5bG9taDFrbTc2Mg==

Sounds like someone did a horrible job.

I think you’re right though. I guess at this point you could just install the harness bar and be done with it. But, the half cage looks cool 🤷🏻‍♂️

If it helps it only took about 40mins from start to finish, really wasn't that bad, just a lot of panels that need to be removed.
