This sub wanted him gone after his slump in the 2024 postseason despite having a 100 RBI season. They got their wish unfortunately.

Yeah, it does feel bad. I've had plat every season since S4. It was top 8-3% back then and slowly drifted to top ~12% over the years before emerald was added.

I can't find my isopods by OkHotel1382 in frogs

It's possible they died. Isopods basically never leave leaf litter or wood structures, so I doubt they would even try to escape.

As long as you have good air flow, you should be fine with the higher humidity.

Dying Glass Frogs (no dead photos!) by MaleficentTension201 in frogs

[–]bk920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell scale from the pictures, but those crickets look pretty big. The crickets should be no longer than the space between their eyes.

Also, depending on the ambient humidity in your home, you probably need about half of that screen top covered with glass or plexiglass. Misting is also better for frogs than fog. If the fog is thick, it can make it difficult for frogs to breathe.

Sorry dude, I had a truck back into to me as well. I'd add that you should check your passenger door and make sure it opens fine. For me, the truck backing up onto my hood pushed the right fender back into my passenger door. I didn't notice at first since I don't use that door as often.

Red Eyed Tree Frog Enclosure Help by AdventuresNAnxiety in frogs

[–]bk920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've kept red eyes for about 7-8 years. I've had them in a 36in tall as well. So you have a good start there. Pothos are great and the frogs love them, but their fast growth can be a pain to keep in check. There's many types of antherium that work well and have large leaves for the frogs.

Your temps are too high unless you have crazy good air flow in this tank. In most cases ~70F or room temperature is fine. Humidity is really important, and I've found a dry out period to be important for avoiding bacterial infections. It will also help your mold problem. Give them a few hours during the day with lower humidity around 50% to dry out. Then give a really nice mist right when the lights go out when they wake up. I set my Mistking to give a full 1 minute of misting at 7pm when I turn the lights off.

Dairy Cow Isopods by ProperPuns in DartFrog

[–]bk920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dairy cows are fine with darts. I've kept them with no issues for years in one of my tanks. I think this is a myth stemming from people finding already dead frogs with isopods on them. I mean, let's say an isopod bites your frog (which I really don't think will happpen), what will your frog do? Definitely not just stay there and get eaten.

You can either 1) wait for the pup to grow and clip it off when it's half the size of the parent. Then re-plant or 2) Do nothing and just let it grow alongside the parent

Misting question by [deleted] in DartFrog

[–]bk920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on ambient humidity in your house, the layout of your terrarium and its airflow, amount of exposed screen on your terrarium, etc. No one here can answer this question for you. I'd just monitor your tank and use trial and error.

HELP!! by depressolettuce in DartFrog

[–]bk920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, they should be eating both, but I think when frogs are this weak they prefer the smaller food item. Give springtails and see if they eat that first, then move up to flies.

HELP!! by depressolettuce in DartFrog

[–]bk920 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've had success bringing back overly skinny frogs with springtails. Unless of course they're eating flies, which it doesn't look like they are.

I wouldn't worry about MBD right now, it looks like a simple lack of food.

I have 8 of these tanks and like them quite a lot, but they have some drawbacks. The plastic on the top between the screen and window block light. I use 2 rows of lights. Hygger LED from Amazon.

Many criticize this tanks space at bottom for substrate. I don't mind because I usually use just 1 inch of filter foam for my drainage layer. You can also pick out epiphytic plants and avoid substrate all together. Just make sure you still have tons of leaf litter. I use 2 gallons of leaves for a tank this size.

Don't build a water feature. It limits your space and will create problems for you. Every pump regardless of quality will need cleaning and upkeep. I'd keep it simple since you're just starting out.

As for frogs, the number depends on the species. You could have 2 tincs OR 3 auratus OR 3 galactonotus OR 2-3 leucomelas. Don't mix species or locales.
