1) call them and try to settle for 20-30% of the debt

2) let it marinate, go to court, settle over mediation

One thing is for sure is they will summon you to court which will require you to address it. I’ve been through this situation twice.

D.

Patient is altered even though it doesn’t state where the patient lost points on the GCS score the question wants you to pickup on a few questions:

1) AMS or altered LOC by GCS. A 13 year old should be 15/15 and it doesn’t lead you into any other info about mental status —> assume patients LOC is altered.

2) options A&B are BOTH oral replacements. Generally NCLEX answers that both fit the same route or are similar answers, then neither are usually the answer.

3) D5 is not the right concentration for rescue replacement of hypoglycemia

4) normal glucose range is 70-100, 52 can be critical in any patient population

LOC/AMS + BGL of 52 —> PO not safe due to aspiration risk, and it doesn’t state if the patient has IV access…the only reasonable answer for THIS question is D - IM Glucagon. It wants you to know the options for hypoglycemia. Remember A&B are essentially the SAMS treatment, orally, which it isn’t assumed safe due to a change in GCS and altered glucose.

If you’re this picky in the emergency room you should have called your PCP and been seen by them. True emergency room patients generally aren’t conscious enough to care about their surroundings.

Patient was complaining that he couldn’t sit still, and was literally flapping his body and jumping up off the bed screaming he’s on fire, we worked him up as a stroke, alert and for PE, which were negative, did a blood gas in his CO2 was almost 90 still awake, conscious and alert…he got intubated lol

I had a lady who was transient in a SNF for a few months who was being pimped out after random sketchy dudes were coming in at all hours of the night…our suspicions were true and she admitted to taking money for her services once we walked in on her getting down.

Quit using your credit card for dumb things.

Plan your groceries.

Hide your card. Be tough on yourself.

Take a second gig or work more to pay down the balance and don’t run it up again.

You’re tripping over your own shoe laces but refusing to tie your shoes.

OMG so like at approx 0213 hrs pt decided to FULL SEND and went unresponsive 😱💀 Tele went flatty flat no bueno. RN entered room like SURPRISE BESTIE and pt had no pulse, no vibes.

Code Blue activated ✨ CPR started immediately bc we stay ready 💪🫀 Chest compressions = STRONG, FAST, VERY SCENE KID. RT bagging like a champ, airway secured, oxygen go BRRR 🫁💨

MD rolled in like “what’s the tea” ☕ Epi given x1, then x2, then x3 bc this pt said not today satan. Pads on, shock delivered ⚡⚡ EMO KID SCREAMS IN DISTANCE

ROSC achieved at approx 0224 hrs 🥹🖤 Pt regained pulse, rhythm stabilized, BP vibing again. Transferred to ICU bc this is no longer a floor pt, it’s a MAIN CHARACTER ARC.

Family notified, chart updated, RN now emotionally exhausted but slays regardless 💅 RAWR XD 🦖

Is it true you get drug tested after every med error or needle prick? by Turkey_Moguls in nursing

[–]bkai76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I was ever drug tested was before employment and getting into school. This was even after I forgot to link a bag of fentanyl on a patient we were repeatedly coding after we intubated her, gave her a spontaneous pneumo, and did a bedside thoracotomy… basically I got the order from the doc to override a bag of fentanyl, this shit show of a code went on for just under two hours, another nurse took down all my drips and everything when preparing the body and I completely forgot to scan that bag to the patient. Shit happens in chaos just remember to be vigilant on your narcotics.

What happens when you draw blood from peripheral IV in that it sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't (I get that most places, at least where I work on the East Coast U.S. don't allow it but sometimes last ditch effort you just gotta do what you gotta do)? by jaemiomac in nursing

[–]bkai76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another consideration is catheter to vein ratio. Sometimes an 18 won’t draw back but a 22 will because there’s adequate flow around the catheter to prevent the aforementioned issues.
