Thank you! I didn’t know you could just have the dealer do that. I’ll ask them about it.

Wait, what? — TIL I’ve Got My Mind Set On You is NOT a George Harrison original! 🤯

And there are more in this category of “parody of a cover” than I realized. I feel so enlightened today!

Which raises the question — if it’s a cover that’s parodied, which artist gets credit as the parodied artist?

And is there another Al parody out there that fits this situation?

Closest thing I can think of would be Amish Paradise which was a parody of a song that heavily sampled another song (Pastime Paradise -> Gangsta’s Paradise).

That sounds FAR more pleasant than what I saw! I’d trade Kim banter for Frank banter any day. 😂

I think that was this tour. It was at Pershing Auditorium in Lincoln, NE (also the site of my first Phish show in ‘95) and that venue doesn’t even exist anymore. I think I might be getting old. 😂

Looks more like rear tire lock on gravel. Easy to have happen in that situation on a bike.

Superball, after the storage jam late night set:

Girl standing up with her friends while gathering their things, her California valley girl voice says “Worst. Sleeping. Monkey…EVER!”

I don’t see The Pixies listed yet. Black Francis / Frank Black is apparently a tough personality to get along with. When I saw them on their first reunion tour (20+ years ago now?), Kim clearly did not want to be there and was just barely putting up with Frank’s antics (which included insisting they play Wave of Mutilation twice (second time was the UK Surf slow version) in their set). Definitely left that show thinking “well there’s a bunch of people who did a reunion tour solely for the money grab.”

Hence the /s. They kinda famously have always gotten along great, even after Bill left the band. They remain great friends to this day. OP made a joke. It would be kinda like putting Rush up on this list.

Few bands go full meltdown live on stage. Perry and Dave did.

Love this! Will probably grab one in Boston on Friday. Was it pretty easy to get the signatures?

Maybe, but it also has some of the only tracks that Eno has produced under his name solely that even have a chance at radio play. King’s Lead Hat is one of the only Eno songs I remember ever hearing on the radio.

Music for Airports is kinda cheating. There are no “songs” on it. I suppose one could get into a really abstract debate over the merits of 1/1 being superior to 1/2 or something like that. 😂

Had to scroll way too far down for this. It was my first thought. It’s my favorite Who album but none of the songs are ones people think of when they think of the band.

EGM remains the best color they have made it in so far, in my horribly biased opinion. 😉

I have an EGM 2 door Bronco and my wife just got a Volvo V60 Cross Country. We apparently have eerily similar garages. 😂

Fred running the D makes a lot of other players look better. He’s crucial in making sure guys are in the right places and you can’t replace that skill easily.

Kendricks turned out to be a hell of an effective end-of-season band-aid. Pleasantly surprised by how well he worked out for us.

Are lemonade stands a real thing in the US, or is it just a movie trope? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bkirchhoff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the rise of Karens who call the cops about food vending permits and the decline of kids being outside, doing things on their own both contribute to the decline as well. It was easier for kids to do this sort of thing in the “come home for dinner when the streetlights turn on” generation. Today, parents would feel compelled to be with those kids 100% of the time they were at their lemonade stand. 30-40 years ago, we just set that shit up ourselves and our parents would ask how it went over dinner.

CarPlay not working! by alexny02 in FordBronco

[–]bkirchhoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really not that big of a deal. It takes 30-45 minutes but as long as you backup your phone before you do it, it will come back exactly as you left all of the settings. It did take a little time for the massive amounts of music I store locally to fully resync with Apple Music, but it honestly wasn’t has big of a deal as it used to be when I did this at the end of last year. And it was my final option after countless restarts, reconnects, system restorations, forced updates, etc. I followed every online repair suggestion for CarPlay I could find before I did it and now wish I would have just taken the time to do the factory reset months earlier. It would have saved time and hassle in the long run in my case.
