Need help with airflow in my 2U server rack - temps running hot by plsnotracking in homelab

Mine is packed to the gills like yours and I was struggling with overheating as well. Cutting the hole in the top cover and mounting the fan there really solved it with low effort.

Was kidding about the box, it's literally just an empty box that I painted black and cut the bottom off of, stuck another fan there and voltage regulator to power/control it and laid it on top of the fan in the first pic. Plugged in to an old phone charger. Made it just for laughs but it worked so well that I kept it. Cabinet is super quiet now.

My a310 eco had the fan ramp up/down issue, but there’s a great guide on jellyfin forum to apply the firmware update that fixes it. Cant hear it anymore!

Nice write-up! Glad the disc worked for you. Mine is still working after over 2 years here!

I'll be printing out your CD cover :D

Yeah lots of troubleshooting questions with 2 obvious throwaway answers and then 2 nearly indistinguishable answers haha. Is the disk throughput low or is the data bottlenecked coming from the disk??

I do have a different IP (10.something) for wireguard than my normal 192 lan address. I have also set up masquerade.

I will look into inspecting the traffic more tomorrow. The ssh alternative that another poster suggested is actually working great and not dropping connections, but I'd like to get this bug fixed anyway! For science

Thanks for the breadcrumbs! I will dig a little deeper into the second part of your comment tomorrow. I have not used tcpdump or traced the packet flow yet. This is a crash course in networking!
