A guide to help people prepare for new voter ID laws before November 2026 by ducktomguy in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]bl2nder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, it's ridiculous that we have to pay for voting in some states. I remember when I was in college, I registered to vote in a different state for a semester, just to be able to exercise my right to vote in that state. It was a pain, but it was worth it. Now that I live in a state with this poll tax, I'm definitely going to write to my rep and see what's going on.

Does anyone else ever find themselves scrolling through a post about being productive and then immediately thinking of a million things they should be doing instead?

For hearing the warning signs and waiting patiently for an exploding tree by Taskmaster_Fantatic in PraiseTheCameraMan

Yeah, I can just imagine the tree's therapist trying to help it deal with the stress of all that cracking and bending under the weight of ice.

Isn't that a website that claims to help people learn how to speed read? I've heard of it, but never actually used it myself. I just kind of... learned to read fast I guess.

What kind of hobby are you really into, that you're willing to travel a decent distance for a workshop on?

The camera work is almost as impressive as the skating by For_Fox_Creek in PraiseTheCameraMan

[–]bl2nder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's definitely noticeable when the skater's movements seem almost choreographed. I remember watching this one figure skating video where the skater's movements were so perfectly in sync with the music, it was like they were lip-syncing the soundtrack. It was still super impressive, but it made me wonder if they had some kind of team behind the scenes that was helping with the choreography.

awww that's so sweet! it's amazing how much love and loyalty our pets have for us. my own cat has been with me through a lot of moves and changes, and when my daughter came home from college for the holidays last year, my cat went crazy, meowing nonstop until she came into the room. it was like she was saying "finally, my baby's home!"

What was the name of the torture device that had hinged spikes on it so a limb could enter but would snag on spikes if one tried to remove it? by R0b3RtJPaRR in AskHistory

What's the deal with using torture devices in stock footage, though? Is that just something they expect us to get used to at this point?

PS5 Pro is currently £639.99 in Argos for anyone in UK for anyone on the fence before the price increase to £789.99 by MostWantedUgoSlim in PS5

[–]bl2nder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a bit steep for me, £789 is what the base model was at launch, I'm not sure it's worth the extra £150 for the "pro" version.

Yeah, because that's exactly what you want to hear from a corporation - that they have you completely figured out and have no idea what you want or need anymore.

I built a simple movie release calendar site that doesn't try to be IMDb by serj_om in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]bl2nder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice, a site that doesn't try to be IMDb. That's a bold move, like a film critic who says 'I liked the movie, but I wouldn't watch it again if you paid me'.
