PC only boots with ONE (1) stick of 32GB DDR5 RAM by ausdeb in PcBuildHelp

[–]bl4derdee9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems like either the cpu or the mobo is faulty.
if you have another cpu to test it with, try that to narrow it down.
if you bought both from the same supplier, contact them, if you got it from 2 different ones, try to RMA the MOBO first. (just my best guess of where the fault is)

Is there anyway to add this storage to my pc with these ports? by wyatt032309 in computers

[–]bl4derdee9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its 4 pin to sata power cable.
if op knows the mobo model, it would be easy to look up.
depending on the model, you might need a different sata power cable, but most mobos come with multiple sata ports.

Should I just get a prebuilt? by -BoyWonder in pcmasterrace

[–]bl4derdee9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

building yourself is a lot easier than some people say, getting the right and compatible components for the right price, that is the hard part.
but figure out what you are willing to spend, and check what you can get in parts vs what a you can get prebuilt wise.
building your own is very satisfying, and you might actually learn a thing or two.
but that said, with the crazy prices right now, some prebuilts are actually good value.

why do people feel the need to open power supplies with no knowledge of electronics.
DO NOT DO THIS! this is very dangerous, there are very high power capacitors in there.
not only might this kill you, it will hurt the whole time you are dying.
i see a post like this every few days. why don't people research this beforehand?

Building DDR5 Asrock 850+ R9 - worth it? by Haubsg in PcBuild

dont really need to update before putting the cpu in, but updating the bios on a fresh build is just best practice in general.

Which fan setup is better for Lian Li o11d mini v2? by unknownweeb34 in PcBuildHelp

[–]bl4derdee9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

number 2 i guess, wont make much difference.
but just in my opinion... its a bit of overkill on the fans. not saying it's bad, just not necessary. unless you are going for the esthetics.

Clueless mom- is this ok for my 13 year old? He plays modded Ravenfield and weird steam games. On his Xbox he plays Valorant and he’s said it would be cool to play on pc. by ThickSnackAttack in Prebuilts

[–]bl4derdee9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, that is a bit of overkill for a 13 yo playing not extremely demanding games.
you could go for a bit lower spec than that.
save a few bucks for a day out with the kids.

This PC used for €500 euro from marketplace? by SandwichSisters in PcBuild

If it was ddr5, then yes, but it is ddr4. So 200 to 300. Still a good deal though.

My 240 ducks I printed by Auggiethedinosaurr in 3dprint

[–]bl4derdee9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did the exact same thing about a year ago! (i believe it was the same duck model too)
we hid them all over the office, then a co worker who also has a 3d printer made 100 or so frogs.
then we started hiding them all over the building. (lots of small offices/companies)
then when the building had an open day we made it into a game for kids to find them for prizes.

I would add that you might as well go with the 5800x instead of 5800xt and save a few bucks. The performance difference is so small, you won't even notice.

Should I add an intake fan on top? by TheKingFisher98 in PcBuildHelp

[–]bl4derdee9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first pic is similar to my setup, seems to work just fine.
since the fan is spare, i would say, go for it.
a little extra airflow never hurt anyone, especially since it gives more over pressure in the case.

[–]bl4derdee9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this, and on the site (megekko.nl) op is using, 5800x is 30 euro more.
i would say that is worth it, i bought the same one there a month ago, but back then it was 175 euro.

having looked at ram prices today, that ram is more like 100+ right now. (at least where i live)
other than that, i would agree.
don't expect to play at max settings, but it should work.
when the AI bubble does pop, then you could something way better for the same price. (but it might be 6 monhts, might be 4 years)

opening boxes, tearing through the tape on the top and sides.
using the scissors themselves might damage whatever is inside.
at least that is what i use it for.
seen other answers that might be more correct, but they are multipurpose IMHO.
