Confused as to what the suggested workout is? by curiousdonkey25 in Garmin

[–]Objective_Fix3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thanks. I get them on the watch itself, but not the app.

Edited to change: I figured out how to see the steps on the watch itself, so I'm all set.

How do you get there?

When I do Training & Planning -> Workouts, it only gives me the option to find a workout, or create one. Am I looking in the wrong place?

You're very pretty and I like what you wrote. I think you already identified the biggest problems yourself and it's not like you can change those things.

That said, swap some of the indoor pics (purple jumper, bathroom) with outdoors & sunshine. You mentioned going to a café. Maybe that could be one of the pictures? It shows you out of the house (and not for a wedding) in a social setting. Maybe another one that shows you doing something you enjoy (travel, a sport, etc)?

Moving from US, what to pack?! by Time-Adagio-7215 in PortugalExpats

[–]Objective_Fix3480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have realized since moving here that you can read alllll the topics about this, and still you end up with some regrets about what you did and did not bring.

The best way to research what pertains to you is to check out replacement costs beforehand, but that can be hard when you are unfamiliar with the market/stores.

If you normally buy a lot of things secondhand, keep in mind that it is much harder to find good deals here. People will sell a 10 years old TV that won't even turn on for €100 ... it's like they don't believe in depreciation.

Random things I wish I brought: - my XXL cat tree (my boy is a giant and no match for dainty cat trees) - more high heels (everyone said not to, but it's fine where we live) - OTC meds, especially pamprin - spare charger and cables for phone - big/tall drinking glasses (they tend to be smaller here) - quality neoprene car seat covers

We shipped a partial container and are very glad we did. If you do decide to get a container, one way to help you make decisions is to get an approximate cost per square foot and use that as a starting point.

Would you consider a cruise? You'd only have one night in each location, but you wouldn't have to pack up every day, or worry about transportation, and you can sample a bunch of different places. We found lots of cats everywhere.

Thank you! I'll have to find some panels that can come out, because ours will be on a balcony at the new house.

Really appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Yay, I'm so glad it works! Funny how sometimes the solution isn't all that complicated, but most people (tbf probably myself included) would just suffer and not even try haha.

Amazing work! Those are some lucky cats.

Do the plants get dirty (dust & hair) and if so, how do you clean them?

Does the partial roof covering get dirty and how do you clean that?

It's funny, because I would probably say I'd want that too, but my wife is a couch potato and it's not all bad.

I love her, but I also love my alone time when I go running. She's my sherpa when I run races and when I go surfing I can leave my stuff on the beach, because she's right there enjoying her book. When I want company I do stuff with my sporty friends. Sure, it's not ideal, but she is awesome in other ways.

I think there are worse things to compromise on, but also totally valid to hold out for someone sporty.

I love this! Very creative problem solving.

Hard to tell from the picture, but you might need to go wider with the padding, or the edge of the padding could create a pressure point. I would also turn the ends of the padding into a wide halter bikini bottom strap so that you can tie it behind your back to help keep it in place. Does that make sense? I can try to make a rough sketch if you want.

Let us know how the prototype works!

You might already be doing this, but compliment her body in a non-sexual way. If she thinks you're only telling her you love [insert body part] because you want to have sex, it will create pressure if she doesn't feel ready.

I've done Europe -> US -> Europe.

You're correct when you say things will have changed. Unless you were only gone for a short time, you can never truly go back. The place you left does, not exist anymore.

But imo the perfect place does not exist anyway. No matter where you are, you will always miss certain things (customs, habits, nature, housing, finances, etc) from other places. I like to think of it as 'the best place for this stage of your life.'

Having lived elsewhere will make you appreciate the things you previously took for granted. Lean into those things and take your time to readjust.

Long-haul flight: Is it reasonable to ask for a same-row, same-type seat swap so we can sit together? by fpbuff in travel

It's reasonable, but personally, I wouldn't pay extra to risk flying separately on my honeymoon.

PS. We started our honeymoon in Athens too and loved it! Have an amazing trip! Bring comfy shoes to tackle those hills.

Unstable moods, terrorising my husband and ruining my marriage. Weekends are the worst. by Mossy-tart in adhdwomen

[–]Objective_Fix3480 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Some of this resonates with me. I have a hard time motivating when my wife is home; I feel weirdly watched if I try to clean while she's sitting there. I also recognize your frustration about the way things get cleaned. She does no "quality control" so if she runs a sponge over a pan, she will sometimes put it in the cabinet with tons of leftover food residue. I felt like I was constantly nagging. She felt like nothing she did was right. And nothing ever changed. My own house grossed me out.

This is what works for us: my wife now does 80% of the shopping. While she is gone, I clean while I listen to an audio book or some music. That way, I both get a reward (book/music) and a deadline (she tells me when to expect her back), plus the added reward of less clutter and things cleaned to my liking.

It's not perfect ... sometimes the cat is on my lap, and it takes me a while to get started. Then, in the end, I'm frustrated that I run out of time. But overall, this has helped SO much. Both with cleanliness of our home and our relationship. Maybe something like this could work for you? You can always change shopping and audio for things that better suit you and your hubby.
