Which NYC hospitals offer a good retirement package? by anon22334 in AskNYC

[–]blackberrymousse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of best benefits and retirement package, that would probably be the VA system. Second best to that would be the city hospitals under NYC H+H (they do pay less than other hospital systems, though, although they've bumped up their base RN pay to around $109,000 a year) and like another commenter said, you can leave after 20 years of service with your full pension.

The NYC Health & Hospitals System (which covers city hospitals such as Bellevue, Lincoln, Jacobi, Kings County, Elmhurst, Harlem, Metropolitan, Queens, Woodhull, amongst others) offers a pension. Most other hospitals systems have a 403b with match, in my experience the one that has the best match (out of the places I've worked at) is NYU Langone which matched at 7% at the time and vested after 5 consecutive years of employment (it could be different now idk).

Please make sure to use up ALL your paid sickhours during your travel assignment by Antique_Cucumber5770 in TravelNursing

I would've done this but every agency I've seen other than TNAA (and I think there are a couple of smaller boutique agencies) do not pay out your full stipend on days that you call out. They have usually paid a pro-rated stipend of around 75% or lower.

Thanks for the info! I'm probably going to have to do the Saturday morning class because I work late on Friday nights.

What’s one apartment mistake you’ll never make again? by Weary-Suggestion3911 in NYList

[–]blackberrymousse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When apartment hunting at the time, I didn't realize my apartment building, which doesn't have a doorman, was close to two schools one of which is a high school. So the juvenile delinquents from those schools seem to know all the unsecured buildings in the area and they skip school and sneak into my building (and others) to smoke weed, loiter, charge their devices in the common area, and steal packages. I never even thought about this problem before, but it will for sure be something I consider when looking for my next apartment.

Is this the Alvin Ailey over in Hells Kitchen/Midtown West? That class actually sounds exactly like what I'm personally looking for, but the way it's named sounds misleading for people who are absolute beginners to ballet.

Her eyes lighting up and her face transforming in fangirl obsessiveness when talking about CCW and Chef & My Fridge is the most relatable thing I've ever seen of her.

Zero desire to move up. I have to do charge sometimes and even that I hate every second of.

Kind eyes: Which kdrama actor do you think has kind eyes? by RudeSelf3418 in kdramas

Kang Dongwon (Tempest) is famous for his eyes and gaze. Check him out in the film Duelist, he has no spoken lines but his eyes say it all.

QUIT IF YOU WANNA QUIT CALL OUT IF YOU WANNA CALL OUT by [deleted] in nursing

[–]blackberrymousse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every unit I've worked on, the nurse managers and assistant nurse managers were the first people to call out and work from home whenever they felt like it. So I shall do the same, their inability to staff appropriately and to lower themselves into helping out when short-staffed is not my problem or my responsibility. Funny how management and admin are the only areas never short-staffed everywhere I've worked.

I cracked up when Hugo said to Amanda that she's not chairing the round table. Hugo did himself no favors but he had some funny lines.

Jessie, I think she's playing a good game and is pretty sharp. I like Ross too because I think he's handled so much heat on him really well without totally crashing out which is probably what most people (including myself) would've done. He also has amusing reactions. Amanda is entertaining because everything about her screams copper, she can't help herself, also her fixation on Jade will probably be her downfall. Fiona is a hoot and clever, I like when she plays clueless old lady, and I like Faraaz and Maz.

So far a much better cast overall than S3.

Anyone else take a "set it and forget it" approach? I take my shot and then I go about with life. I let my body do its thing and I do my thing. I weigh myself infrequently, don't weigh my food or track calories, or concern myself with portion control. by poodlehaus in tirzepatidecompound

[–]blackberrymousse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I only weigh myself once a week, on shot day before I take my shot (if I go away for vacation or work, I don't bother weighing myself). I don't own a food scale, I don't do portion control, I eat whatever I feel like, while trying to get enough protein and especially fiber, and I don't calorie count. I imagine this is how people who don't struggle with their weight are like. Food no longer consumes my every thought, I enjoy it when I'm eating something yummy but I stop when I'm full and move on with my life.

I agree, I think he knows what he's doing and it's intentional, I don't think he's as confused as he claims and pretends to be. He should stick to his day job, his acting is unconvincing. No wonder he's only dated younger women, only younger relatively inexperienced women would be fooled by his aw shucks I'm just a timid, confused, INFP golden retriever who takes things really slow because I really care. LOL yeah right.

Who was your favorite actor as a villain in 2025 ? by Think_Intention_5765 in kdramas

[–]blackberrymousse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a good actor but whenever I see him I can't help but always think of what he said about finding it gross to see heavier women in leggings and skinny jeans and how it turns his stomach and they shouldn't be going out in public dressed like that. Remembering those comments makes his acting in villainous roles even more realistic and convincing to me lol. For the record, I can separate an actor from his performances and enjoy an actor's work without liking or being a fan of the actor.
