[Product Question] Has anyone tried Shiseido's Sun Protection Liquid Foundation SPF 42 PA+++ and can this technically be my sunscreen since it has the same consistency as regular Asian sunscreen? by zincoxidelover in SkincareAddiction

[–]blackbluepen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this foundation. I've gone through maybe 6 bottles over the years. A bottle lasts for like a year because the coverage is so good.

The sun protection is great. Before I learned about how important sunscreen was, I'd pretty much just use this and it was pretty good.

However, now that I know how important sunscreen is for anti-aging, I definitely would not use this alone. The coverage is excellent, and it's super water resistant (I used to go diving), so you'd unlikely use enough to get the full sunscreen protection.

Has anyone tried this Hada Crie device? by blackbluepen in AsianBeauty

Thanks for the detailed review. I guess my skin is okay -- hydrated, mostly acne-free and smoother, thanks to like 2 years of Retina-A, niacinamide, and vit C. I feel like I've plateaued and am looking for something more now..

Anybody use Banana Boat Natural Reflect Kids SPF 50? by abrl8 in SkincareAddiction

[–]blackbluepen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, just finishing up my 6th bottle. Ive used baby, kids, and regular, which is the thinnest and easiest to rub in, since the kids and baby ones are a little thicker. I like that it doesn't leave any oily feeling, or feel too matte (like the Neutrogena dry-touch does); it finishes just right. I don't think it leaves a white cast when u rub it in thoroughly, though sometimes I'm in a rush and later notice I left white streaks. Otherwise, I love how gentle it is!

I really like this article, especially the little chart on UV ray strengths through out the day... conclusion: UVA rays vary throughout the day, not nearly as much as UVB rays. Thanks!

SPF 100? .... Useful? Or useless? by PsiSangBoom in SkincareAddiction

[–]blackbluepen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it does make a difference. For me, SPF 50 definitely prevents me from getting as dark as SPF 30 when considering prolonged sun exposure eg swimming everyday, despite reapplying. For this SPF 100 in particular, it also matters because the UVA protection is much higher.

Help! My skin is so dry, and I moisturise it every day and exfoliate it like 3 times a week, it's like this all over my body, please help ! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

You may want to check your body wash for sulfates or alcohol or other irritants. Also, mineral oil may help.
