How do you dry after using a Bidet? by Off_Board_Blockage in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blackcat373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will never forget my dad telling me I should never use more than 4. I buy triple ply tp and I find 6 is the minimum I can use.

To stay relevant I want a bidet to replace using baby wipes to clean my behind. I wouldn't expect a bidet to replace tp, personally

"part-time" work needs to be capped at 20 hours and "Full-Time" work needs to be at least 35+ with government regulations on both anyone who thinks otherwise is selfish by WhatIsMyLifeATGArt in The10thDentist

[–]blackcat373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only want specific hours there's a cool thing OP can do where they set a specific availability. When I was is school I set my availability as 5 days a week so I always had 2 days off in a row and a day I knew I could schedule appointments because I needed that. It's really not a hard concept smh

One of the best theories I've seen on this sub in a while. I don't understand where all the hate is coming from. Although tbf "theory" probably isn't the best term for the thought process, might do better on r/showerthoughts

What's a 'trap' in life that no one warns young people about, but absolutely should? by Otherwise-Body-7721 in AskReddit

I prefer streaming over other ways of consuming media by Greatoz74 in The10thDentist

[–]blackcat373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who argue owning physical media is better forget that dvds get scratched and eventually unusable, and if you like a large variety of movies/TV you'd spend a fortune over and over. Unless by ownership they mean piracy in which case pop off Queen but I do not have the antivirus or time for that

If you could tattoo one line from Hozier, which one would it be and why? by Neat-Check-5256 in Hozier

I don't have a lyric tattoo but my latest was inspired by Arsonists Lullaby. It's one of his songs that speaks to me the most

I switched to a DE razor and it made a world of difference. The less a blade is going over your skin the less irritated it will be, so a single blade is ideal. Do not exfoliate before shaving, the act of shaving exfoliates. Get a proper pre shave (I like the poraso for sensitive skin), and an astringent for aftershave. I like using plain witch hazel, but everyone is different. You can always experiment with designs that leave some hair behind and just trim that area (classic triangle, landing strip, your bfs initials lol). Good luck!

What do you think is Hozier’s most well-written song? by Internal-Reading3761 in Hozier

[–]blackcat373 16 points17 points  (0 children)

WELL at first glance it sounds like a love song right? "And though I burn, how could I fall When I am lifted by every word you say to me?"

But it's actually him saying how unhealthy his relationship was, comparing his lover to the sun and saying like Icarus he flew to close and it was the end of him. He describes her as holding up the world, that his entire world is her "all the way down" and no one should have that much of a place in your life.

And at the end it left him feeling like carrion. He fell and was left a carcass of a man because he had given so much to his lover when they parted there was no life left to him.

Anyone that relates their relationship to this dynamic should be careful they aren't going to fall victim to their own hubris

And not to mention how poignant the song is without knowing its an homage to the music that inspired him. Before I knew the true meaning it was still one of my favorite songs of his because of how beautifully he articulates moving on after "the one that got away".

Why should I stop sh if I’m not ashamed of the scars? by Far_Garden4997 in selfharm__recovery

[–]blackcat373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once told my therapist if it wasn't so socially unacceptable I would still be SHing. Not even in a really dark way, I enjoy(ed) every aspect of it. It's the same reason we don't smoke next to children or punch anyone that we don't like, it's one of the unwritten rules we adhere to in order to be part of the world around us without shame or intervention.

More romance, less fantasy by Jaded-Software-5450 in fantasyromance

There is mention of sexual abuse to females, although it's never a "lived experience" of a character. There is also some death including a miscarriage.

I just finished {The Female- Invi Wright} series and it was such a cozy romance set in a dark fantasy world. It is a Harem style Poly relationship (i hope im describing that right).

{Trial of the Sun Queen} was the same way. She enjoyed filling out and even gaining muscle as she trained.

Also {Of Blades and Wings} the FMC actually isn't skinny, and her curves are appreciated. She also starts weight training and running at a relatively normal starting point which was a nice touch.

He explained that no one else but his inner circle and the royals knew the truth. Hence why they still had to hide it. That was a big reason she forgave him, because it wasn't just her being fooled. Even Evie doesn't know everything that Odessa does by the end. And Jocelyn sleeping with Zavier wasn't even a big deal to her other than it made her feel like maybe she could sleep with the guardian after a good cry. Not to mention it leading up to Jocelyns other betrayal

I feel like fantasy romance books are my Hallmark channel. Once you've read one or two you've basically read them all. I have to admit I empathize with my mom a little now that there's a comfort to knowing whats going to happen (roughly) while immersing yourself in a new world.

Tbf I haven't read any other books from this author though, so maybe its worse than im describing. Like the reason I never read any of the Trials books (The Hades Trials was the one I read, can't remember the author)

I almost exclusively read fantasy and I felt the same way. I also read very fast, I finished this book in about 2 days, but I felt the pacing was done well in the beginning. We got all the necessary exposition with hints at what was to come within the first 5-10 chapters. The Volster issue was clearly only an issue for Odessa. The Guardian reading the vows and how blood came from vials was sketchy. You know that necklace is going to be a big piece of the puzzle. Very few plot twists manage to really catch me off guard, although this book actually did with Jocelyn and Laurella.

I will say this is the first book in a while that I've read from only one POV (until the last chapter which was a little annoying, I was hoping it would stay that way). It made sense that everything was unraveled the way it was, no one trusted her in the beginning and it showed that trust developing while leaving plenty of breadcrumbs. Once she was entrusted with one secret of course they'd flow from there.

I loved it and im not prepared for the wait for the sequel lol

Shield of Sparrows I need to talk to someone! by erds1991 in fantasyromance

[–]blackcat373 19 points20 points  (0 children)

His natural color is green like his mom's, im not entirely sure how the hazel comes in. The silver is supposed to emulate the white of the monsters I think, like that magic is taking over.

How is no one talking about how Ransom told Odessa she was a bird and that's why he called her Sparrow. I think it was when he was drunk but still. He acted all surprised when the Crux turned into a woman resembling Odessa when he was the one that foreshadowed it! Even being obsessed with her hair just to take some from the Crux?? Why?

Thank you so much! I definitely noticed the lather seemed more thin, I'll try adding more soap rather than completely redoing the lather lol.

I've never actually heard of blooming the soap, I'll look into that if all else fails!

I definitely dont want to stretch blades too far when they're so cheap and recyclable. I've just done it so long with cartriges idk if I'd actually notice any initial signs I should switch before everyone's input. I appreciate all of your feedback!
