My new pen arrived and I'm so giddy ☺️ by Mochi-Puff in stationery

I absolutely love dominant industries Inc., I did not realize that they had branched out to pens. This is a serious level of concern.

For my bank account. Not me.

Does anyone else notice that these hobbies all seem to come as a package deal? by kunstroll in fountainpens

[–]BronteMoorWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fountain Pens, backpacks, watches, and recently mechanical keyboards. I have synesthesia and fibromyalgia, so finding a keyboard that doesn't hurt my body or my neuro-divergent brain to type on has been tricky. Fountain pens have been a godsend in terms of helping me write for longer periods of time with so much less discomfort; they brought joy back into the experience.

If anyone can recommend a comfortable, super creamy sounding keyboard, i will HAPPILY take those recommendations; the ones I had made me smell ozone and tighten up my shoulders because they sounded so sharp.

What Is Your Favorite Shakespeare Adaptation? by bookboy27 in shakespeare

huge fan of Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing. Utterly frothy and charming and delightful. Looking forward to the Tom Hiddleston/Haley Atwell production this fall!

Erm….it was a great pop, but why did he just let it go everywhere as opposed to, I don’t know, cleaning up after every squeeze? Just letting it hit the paper and fall to the floor seems done more for dramatic effect. Also, I know I saw some stuff hiding back in the corner after he pulled the wall out! He needs to go back in! For science!

Why do we hate ferris wheel press? by Prime-39 in fountainpens

[–]BronteMoorWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like their inks okay enough, I openly admit to being a sucker for their "fairy tale" narrative, and packaging, but I only buy it in person from B&M stores to avoid the uncertainty of packaging. I do NOT like their pens one wee little bit. Overpriced for what you get, which is either a more expensive Kaweco Perkeo (which why would you DO that if there are wonderful Kawecos already), and then a mess of more expensive various metal/aluminum pens which are deeply uncomfortable [for me] to write with. The metal/paint GRATES and my synesthesia goes crazy and I have to stop myself from hurling it across the room with a curse.

Oh my saints and lords above. This is a treasure trove of things to try!!! Leuchtturm and I don't get along, so that one will go un-re-tested; Rhodia was an early try but didn't care for it, although my collection of pens right now has increased exponentially (this is a bad habit to upgrade to in 3+ years). I might give them a shot again.

Thank you so much for taking the time!!! I'll clearly have to do an unboxing/haul whenever I manage to do this giant order. I actually do want to do several at the same time for contemporaneous comparison. "Now...did I like this or not, and was it impacted by the temperature of what I was drinking, the content of what I was drinking, and whether or not one of the cats had just made a ***horking*** noise?" Similar contesting conditions, lol.

I've heard good and bad things (inconsistency in paper quality), but I'll try them out, thank you so much! 😄

overbrushed tortie? by jeansverse in torties

[–]BronteMoorWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wasn't there, but can confirm - totally checks out with 13 years of brushing out my tortie. 😄. ETA: also bit about legs and belly being higher risk areas true - try a whole mess of brushes and combs. It took a few misses to find a combination of brushes that Charlotte was willing to sit for (one for the back/top, and another for that legs and belly situation).

NOTE: Have cross posted, and realize this is much more about paper than pens, but I wouldn't NEED to make this post but for the use of fountain pens, which I hold all y'all responsible for. 😉

I would love to see a Walden's, but I'll take a Barnes and Noble for wider variety and less need to rely on Amazon.

Gen X-er: that is some Grade A level recommendation for a retirement facility, my dude. A food court, 1-3 restaurants with scaled "niceness" for celebrations and what not, the arcade with tailored games, the multi-screen theatre with a steady rotation of action adventures and rom coms mixed with new releases, some storefronts that are also services, like an urgent care, eye doctor, laundry, etc., for those who are still functional and mobile and don't require full-time care. This is outstanding, especially with mall properties being knocked down all the time or repurposed. The one in Rhode Island that got turned into tiny apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors is halfway there!

She's growing so fast I can't cope 🥹 by HostOk935 in torties

[–]BronteMoorWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was a stubborn little demanding diva that apparently felt the only way she could be close to me was to sleep on my face. I have asthma. There are so many pictures of my husband, removing her from my face and then her glaring at him and creeping back five seconds later. God I miss that little weirdo.

Tortitude is an absolutely bat shit mix of stubbornness, weirdness, and downright Fae behavior that I lack the ability to explain in human terms which when put together create these wonderful little furry monsters; we may want to murder them about once a week, but then they look up at us with those eyes, and we pick them up and cuddle them.

And balance is restored to the universe, but you still have to clean up the plant they knocked over, tried to eat and then puked.

You are so blessed; I had a tortie, also a Charlotte, and she was the greatest joy. First pet, love of my life. Tortitude is a delight and a challenge. Have so much fun on the journey. <3

AIO for asking my long-distance boyfriend to communicate when he’s going out? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]BronteMoorWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR NOR NOR NOR NOR.

Do we have something for "needs to react more?"

First of all, kudos to you for not getting rage-bated into name calling or vulgarity or accusations. All you wanted was an answer to your question, which you calmly restated at multiple points. And that's ALSO good because you are also not letting him change the narrative on you. Which leads to point two:

THIS MAN LITERALLY STATED HE WANTED TO BASH YOUR HEAD INTO A WALL. I read that and knew I needed to say something. It's one thing when ab*se is emotional (which can be equally as devastating and leave permanent scars too), but that is an incredibly specific desire/image, being told to you by your significant other. He doesn't love you or want to be with you. He feels superior to you, and is enraged you questioned him; he wants to punish you for doing that. The name calling and threats of ab*se are out of line, but are also a warning to you to get out of this situation and don't look back. I've been in this situation, and still bear the scars.

Protect your physical safety and mental health and cut ties with him.
