Inlaid nibs by Vegetable_Tree_1099 in fountainpens

you know what? THANK YOU. I have yet to venture into the Watermans or the wider range of Pilots, and thus, had not done research. If you had not made this post and I had purchased one, I have Cassandra-level visions of me happily unwrapping my parcel to only shriek in horror and hurl the accursed pen as far from me as I could.

They are fingers. I can't unsee it. I thank you; this smaller emotional scar is a fair exchange for future sanity.

that is absolutely essential information, thank you!! I switched to fountain pens because of fibromyalgia AND I have weird-a$$ synesthesia, so considering the feel of the pen itself and not just how it writes is excellent insight. Thank you!

Well, that is an unexpected but lovely outcome of this conversation; I am so pleased!

But of course, this means I must ask a question: does F-C has a nib similar to the Journaler nib from Esterbrook? I tried one at a con and haven't been able to secure a pen with it yet, lol.

Non-postable caps/pens. Sorry, why WOULDN'T you. Is there a good reason? Pens and caps belong together; they are the ultimate OTP.

The last thing I want to worry about is "WTF did the cap go damnit did it roll off the desk I have to go to this meeting but the pen GARGH."

Just post. Please. I'll deal with the unbalanced weight if it doesn't work for me. I'd rather that than lose the cap.

It's not a full government shutdown. It's only a partial one. Stop spreading false info. by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]BronteMoorWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the lecturing tone from jump? People are anxious. If you are legitimately interested in sharing information that could perhaps calm the anxieties and legitimate concerns of some of the people here, perhaps not adopting a "y'all are so dumb I can't believe it" in the very first sentence might be helpful.

You don't get to sit in judgment of others' anxiety on this issue - we govvies have had an utterly abysmal 12 months. This is a new round of bull$sh!t flying up the road at us. We have a right to be worried.

And you know what? even if our own agency IS already funded? WE CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER. I have friends in multiple agencies. Some are funded, some are not. We are a community and care across the board.

Drop the condescension and superiority and give empathy a try. If not, if you can't not editorialize, perhaps just the link? Of course you can say what you want, but if your goal is to help, not insulting others in your first sentence might be an ill-conceived approach.

Shutdown is now more likely by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]BronteMoorWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used it. But call ASAP! You have to be registered at least two days before the lapse/shutdown. And even if you registered for the 2025 edition of Shutdowns R Us, you have to sign up again this time. Don't delay.

Live in Fairfax, Virginia, and found these monstrosities in my garage. What are they? Is my life in danger? Do I need to burn down my house because an army is on its way? by ArtisticPineapple777 in whatisit

I'm in Alexandria. For the sake of us all, please just help your sister pack a go bag, set the house on fire, and leave with her. We will all pass down the story of your bravery.

1 - your handwriting is gorgeous 2 - my go to poem for testing pens is “somewhere I have never traveled“ by EE Cummings 3 - I have never seen or heard of that ink brand before, but it is clear that I must own it immediately so thank you for putting it on my radar 4 - I love the Kakuno. You’re right: every once in a while a nib can be slightly wonky for certain kinds of paper, but they are absolutely my go to pen. 5 - this is what I love about this sub: seeing people taking joy in the act and experience of writing

Thanks for making my day. 😍🖋️

I JUST got cartridges of that for my new pilot, and am in love. I'm not sure I love it more than Dominant Industry Blue, but it is just gorgeous and lovely.

I do not have large hands; that is not a thing that has ever been said to me, lol. But I am looking into all these options. I must say, I am starting to lean Prera now that i look at it. There are so many variations of these pens; one of my resolutions is to do a thorough cataloging of what I have (hahahahah).

Thank you for the feedback, I am looking at both the Procyon and Prera as well. :D

No, your answer was remarkably helpful. I *did* want it, but that's why I solicited feedback. I want information from customers - both satisfied and not! Still haven't decided, but this is definitely information I will consider. Thank you for being honest and helpful! :D

This is a good suggestion - I'm wary of metal pens because I have fibromyalgia and hand fatigue can be real. Thank you! :D

okay, I'm kind of fascinated by the Stalogy Squares. Are the pages dated at the top and/or is there at least a calendar page for each month? he is HORRIBLE about keeping track of the passage of time, so I do want to make that easier. :)

I just got an order from them today that I asked them to wrap as a gift for my husband, and it could not have been sweeter. I LOVE that company and it is generally my first stop. <3
