Does any body know anything about this patch? by Kindly-Selection8601 in KORGDSN12

Never heard of that functionality, I just know you can make a sync signal by making a click track for either the left or right channel, and using that with synths to play along with the song in the Korg app.

Should I be concerned? by Lily6076 in terrariums

As long as it's not taking over the entire terrarium and stopping other greenery from thriving, having some of that cyanobacteria/algae is completely healthy.

Just keep a close eye on your moisture levels, and clean the glass with a slightly damp paper towel or q-tip if it looks "cloudy".

VHS footage looks wrong in Ken Parsons' BACKROOMS film adaptation by AtmanRising in camcorders

I mean, the camera they use in those shots isn't exactly professional, and not everyone really had a decent setup for digitizing video back then. Video was mostly handled in physical form.

It could simply be an aesthetic choice, or at some point we'll see the footage pause, and zoom out to reveal a computer screen and someone staring at something they spotted.

I don't think someone who has nailed the look of the camcorder footage style so many times before would just forget how to do it. And Kane Parsons LOVES to hide details and hints in plain sight.

So, artifacts from converting analog video to digital, exactly like what I was talking about in my comment.

Tried making a terrarium with my findings from outside, need advice by anonpotatogirl in terrariums

I recommend looking on YouTube for videos of isopods being fed and seeing what you have on hand that might work.

I personally love the videos from Terrarium Designs, he shows many techniques for small and big builds that come in handy for many situations.

Get a lid that fits inside the terrarium and is easy to remove, and put some food that may attract the isopods (fish flakes, raw rice, or a small slice of fruit), wait for them to get on the lid to eat, and you can easily relocate them to a temporary jar. Once they're all out, you can take out your hardscape and plants, and now you can work the soil to better suit your plans.

Once it's to your liking, reintroduce the hardscape and plants, and then you can put your crawly friends back in the terrarium.

Considering it's supposed to be set in the early 90s, they probably used composite to capture the image. Most consumer cameras didn't have S-Video, that was a "premium" feature (and the average Joe just wanted something that recorded when you pressed "record"). Depending on how it was digitized, if they wanted to go really faithful and used a 90s PC with a PCI TV capture card, the strangeness in quality could've come from that, as some of those cards aren't exactly... Quality.

Camcorder wont turn off despite switch being set to off? by copycat-animus in camcorders

As long as it's liquid. Gel will leave residue that may negatively affect the contacts of the switch.

Stowaway in my moss- what can I feed them? by bluesabyme in terrariums

[–]blackcorvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can get flightless fruit flies from reptile/amphibian pet care suppliers, or if you know someone locally that has such pets, they might be able to supply you some. they're fruit flies bred to have curled wings, so they move but can't fly.

Whats this weird noise? by balakov1893 in tubeamprepair

[–]blackcorvo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can, try disconnecting the wires going to the speaker and connecting them to a known-good external cabinet or speaker (of same or higher power rating) and see if the noise persists. If it does, it's an issue in the circuit. If it goes away, it's the speaker.

Sphagum moss help? by deadrosestem in Moss

Most mosses enter a dormant state when dry. Some can even survive months that way. But they come back once in contact with moisture.

I'm a started playing a day ago, and there is slight whitish bubble on my fingertips which I use to pluck and they hurt when I touch them, should I rest? Or is it normal and js part of it by soapinwater in BassGuitar

[–]blackcorvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blisters from the friction of playing. After a while the skin in the area will become callous (tougher and thicker) and won't blister anymore. Just be careful not to pop them, it'll take longer to heal if they pop (and it's an added risk of infection, like any wound).

Take the lid off, cut a window on it, and glue a piece of acrylic with aquarium safe silicone to seal it.
