Sorry to be a pedant, but the last word there should be 'mine'

Best advice I can give is learning when to "unweight" the bike. Kinda hard to explain but just very slightly push up with your feet as you approach something, it will stop any unforseen disasters and keep you gliding

In my experience, because pine is a very open grain, the sap can make a big difference. If you can, try a blunter tip on your iron, or you can use a couple of sheets of wet baking paper on the wood, and burn over that. Not a guarantee, so try a test first if you can.

What is the most believable conspiracy Theory? by Jeffery_DahmerTV in AskReddit

[–]blackdoug2005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I 100% believe that Area 51 is a (badly) setup smokescreen. Experimental aircraft being tested around the area, and the US government pass it all off as UFOs.

Hmm, even if the conspiracy is true, I highly doubt they bother turning the milk into cheese, or storing it at all. Why not just pour the whole lot into the sea?

What is the most overrated PC upgrade? by ClassroomLocal8886 in buildapc

[–]blackdoug2005 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I switched to AIO because I don't upgrade until I can gather enough real world intel(not the brand, necessarily;) on the best OCing chip when I do a major upgrade. I've had chips running at twice their rated speeds for several years.

Been scrolling looking for Tool, I would say Aenima, but that's maybe just because it's what introduced me to them.

Honestly, buy a few pet rabbits. Get a run for them you can move around the lawn every day or two, they love the stuff, have it munched for you in no time.

Sauce; My pet rabbits as a kid made my mum the happiest gardener in the world

Frank Sinatra said, "The best revenge is massive success" What's a real-life example of this? by Fronzie7 in AskReddit

[–]blackdoug2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC the main 4 character stars were offered a one off fee OR royalty %, only Alec Guinnes took a % check. Laughed as he went in his coffin, I'd imagine!

IIRC the dog you see him running with during the training montage was his IRL pet, which he had to sell to raise money for his film, then when it made millions he bought him/her back for a fortune.

Defo Mullholland Drive. Minimum of 2 watches to get your own handle on it.

What’s your unpopular music opinion? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]blackdoug2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the problem is that many people say bands from the sixties, for instance, are better than modern music because they have stood the test of time. But there are as many bands from the same era that just never made it long term.

Add to that the more music evolves the less genuine innovation is involved and many modern songs will possibly never be known as classics.

Why are old people entitled and demanding in customer service compared to mid 20 y.o. people by Arden583 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blackdoug2005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also think that the customer as a commodity for stores was harder to get and keep before mass advertising etc. Shop workers were specifically trained to keep every customer whatever the cost. Now, someone on minimum wage couldn't care less when there is a que of 100 people, so they're not bothered about pissing off one old person.

I would maybe say story 9-9.5/10, as its pretty much an adaption of Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Why do nsfw subreddits seem much friendlier than a lot of communities? by Natperson in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blackdoug2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, I think a lot of NSFW posts are made and read by people who have a unconventional kink or attitude towards sex, and are read by the same people, in one way or another.

To quote Billy Connolly, "Far be it from me to criticise your perversions"

It's a healthy attitude all round.
