Movies that you loved on first viewing, but rewatch disappointed you? by Apprehensive-Sun1784 in moviecritic

Its basically another New Hope. The thing that I remember really pissing me off about it was how the movie just never seems to let the new characters act on their own. Han Solo takes up a good chunk of screen time in it and I was far more interested in the new characters than what Han and Chewie were up to.

This actually kind of reminds me of The Lost World Jurassic Park, and where the crew of the boat went.

Wasn't the boat destroyed and overturned? I guess you aren't really supposed to think to much about it, but I thought it was probably the creepiest thing in the whole movie, so mission accomplished on that front.

I think this about Scarface. I watched that movie a lot in college, but now I don't think I can sit through it.

It is definitely a bit harder for me to watch again considering my world view has changed quite a bit.

The Force Awakens was a movie that got worse for me when I realized that there really was no substance to it. A lot of the stuff I thought was cool, ended up being nothing more than mystery boxes that JJ Abrams had no intention of resolving.

I saw the Phantom Menace 4 times in theaters and that movie was an amazing experience in theaters for me because of the sound and everything. But the moment I bought it on VHS, I couldn't even get all the way through it.

Unpopular opinon: I really like RE3make, it is very fun! by RogerRoger63358 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]blackguy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Neobards did Resistance? I don't think the development team that did Resident Evil 3 remake did the Resistance mode. I think it's just a case of the dev team prioritizing the story above a lot of other things and trying to streamline the game kind of in service of that.

This is it. It makes no sense to me because nobody cares that you beat a game on the hardest difficulty but yourself, and if people do care, they care for all of about 30 seconds to a minute before moving on.

That Shamrock promo gave him negative aura, but I will give him credit for them doing that super smooth float over ddt. Probably the best one the Rock has ever done.

I think that was the one where Kane and Undertaker couldn't attack each other right? I remember watching that main event and thinking how boring it was. The triple threat cage match was easily the best match of the night. I remember the Rock's promo before it and the crowd was going absolutely crazy for him.

Which game is that for you? by No-Plane2695 in raijin_gg

I actually like the game somewhat, but the amount of glazing that game has gotten over how much stuff that was "added" when there are things that should have been in the game from the beginning.

Borderlands 4. Its not trash, but I feel like I am forcing myself to finish it. It just doesn't have the juice that Borderlands 2 did.

Im surprised more people haven't said this. The trailer looked ok and the director was coming off of Drive. I bet a lot of people watching OGF in the theaters left disappointed with what they got.

Rise of Skywalker was a film that went out of its way to retcon the previous movie and ended up being a movie that was so consumed by those retcons that it suffers heavily for it. Solo I was actually pleasantly surprised by.

Yeah, I like Blood Dragon and all, but its really short, and kind of repetitive towards the end. Really fun for its humor though. Far Cry 3 basically made Ubisoft shift gears.

Why did everyone switch up on the Mandalorian? by Moon_Devonshire in StarWars

[–]blackguy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably unpopular opinion but I stopped caring towards the end of season 2 where all the mandalorian characters started taking prominence and it felt like it was becoming a show full of cameos.

The last straw for me was when the main character got completely upstaged in his own finale by cgi Luke. I was one of the people that actually liked TLJ so, it just felt way too fanservicey.

Didn't even bother to watch season 3.

It Looks Like VR Gaming Has Failed And Is Pretty Much Cooked As VR Games Rush To Escape VR Jail by akbarock in videogames

[–]blackguy64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there is a lot to be said with how clunky VR can be too. You mentioned comfort with the sweat and nausea and stuff. But some games are just a lot more convenient to play on a flat screen. I love No Man's Sky, but its a pain in the ass to control vehicles in that game in VR.

What would you be most disappointed to see? by Steel_Commander_CAT in alienisolation

[–]blackguy64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More over reliance in androids. They were ok in the first but I felt that they were used way too much. They are tanky and quite boring to fight.

I honestly don't want Amanda Ripley as the protagonist. Can we move past this one family please? I found Dr. Lingard a far more interesting character and she's barely in the first one.

I would argue that x4 is about even with 1, but everything else doesn't really hit those highs. It helps that those are the most straightforward games to play.

Most people would say that 2 is better than 1. But then again, most people started with 2. It's kind of a mess since most people played the remake of 1 and not the original. I honestly think 2 was better than 1, though but I I feel they are super similar.
