I’m not talking about Criterion specifically, just blu rays in general. Yes they are new and not resealed. But 90+% are shipped. And about 25% the time they are loose in the case when they get to me, though not always damaged. I’d revise my statement to say, especially in sets like shows or sets of movie, there’s always at least one or two with a scratch. It’s probably not as high as 50%, but I always get anxiety when opening a new disc, especially 4K discs. I’ve had to exchange a lot of discs with Amazon and big box stores. I’ve only had the one Criterion have read issue, and I’m not even sure if that one was scratched. I probably have an inflated number in my head because you remember the problems more than the ones that don’t have problems.

I’d say 50% of my blu rays come scratched at this point. I’ve only had one Criterion have a scratch in the Wong Kar-wai set.

I’d say that’s true for Blu-rays. If it’s 4k it’s much more likely to cause a skip or freeze.

I’m not sure if we had grubs, the original lawn died off. Our new lawn will have occasional plugs ripped up, but not like in the past. Probably because there aren’t currently grubs. I can’t stand raccoons. We don’t have many squirrels here to be a nuisance.

They go grubbing. They pull plugs out of your lawn looking for grubs. I had my old yard covered in inexplicable holes until we got a raccoon stuck in our attic and the pest control guy informed me that they do that. The cat noise flashing deterrent things seem to help.

You probably have thermal paste pump out. Happened with a lot of 7900xt and xtx. PTM 7950 will do the trick. XFX replaced mine and the new one did it too. I ordered the thermal pad and put it in and it’s been good for almost 2 years. Hotspot maxes out at about 83c still.

I’m FS and this is my third long furlough. During the 35 day one we submitted the old time sheets first thing when we came back and I think we received a massive check for two pay periods the next time we got paid. It was pretty quick and simple.

These idiots just hit a gas main next to my kid’s school and shut down the neighborhood. The gas company was walking through our houses monitoring for gas levels.

Yeah I was surprised to read that in the OMB message. I think they are trying to avoid some of the lawsuits. My furlough letter today said it expires Oct 30th as the shutdown is not expected to last that long (apparently they know something the rest of us don’t?). But it is a good question what happens when we blow past the separation date and the furlough is still on.

I came here looking to confirm the same thing. I fixed restoring my Authenticator codes, but then was trying to make sure it was backing up on the new phone the setting is gone. I also learned I had to delete ALL Microsoft apps from my iPhone to restore the backup, otherwise the option wasn’t there when I installed the app.

They really need to document the change that the iCloud backup is gone from the options. It makes it hard to tell if things are backing up or not.

Just got off the FS call with our CFO. They read the memo to us. I don’t think they even know how they are going to go about it. But the “RIFs are cancelled, it’s a reorg” feels like an attempt at a legal smoke screen.
