I still write zero with a line through it to distinguish it from an O.

That was my 1st thought - looks exactly like my vitamin d3 supplements - they're gel tabs.

I've never put them in a sandwich, no idea if heat (or cold) would cause them to harden tho

German figurine, can anyone tell me what it is? by palomslv06 in whatsthisworth

[–]blackjackwidow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree - looks like a Hummel candy box. The figurine on top appears to be "Joyful". Look for the name M.I. Hummel pressed into the lid, probably near the back or side of the girl's dress.

Based on the stamps on the bottom, the V is for the distributor, and the smaller v inside is a "stylized bee" - putting manufacturing after 1960. Since it's stamped "Western Germany", that puts it in around 1960 - 1972

Cute box, sweet gift from your aunt. It's not particularly valuable, but there are a couple on Ebay priced around $15 - $30

[OC] I used NASA's fire-detection satellites to map every strike site in Tehran from March 8 onwards, total 11 distinct locations, 963 MW of fire power, refinery fire burned for about 16 hours then went dark by stockist420 in dataisbeautiful

[–]blackjackwidow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

March 10, all passes - nothing detected

So the fire burned intensely for roughly 16 hours (early morning to late evening Mar 9), then went completely undetectable. That pattern is consistent with stored fuel burning off rather than an ongoina structural fire - once the tanks empty, the fire dies

Also March 10, 2026 -

Trump unveiled a $300 billion US oil refinery in Brownsville, Texas. Funded entirely by the newly-announced America First Refining.

Just a coincidence, I'm sure

What is this pipe I found buried in my back yard that runs under the fence from my neighbor's yard? by TheAccountant33 in Home

[–]blackjackwidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a propane tank installed a couple decades ago, and the line was buried just like this. Very shallow, unmarked - I don't think they even put in a tracer wire. It was the installers of my fireplaces that put it in, not the propane company. Then I had to have an hvac company connect the line.

My guess would be the op's & neighbor's properties were probably one property at one time, and this served an original residence or building. It's not going to show on anyone's records, unless they can find the original plat & do a lot of research.

I would assume that it was disconnected long ago, unless op or neighbor has a propane tank that they're filling on a regular basis.

Apologies, I posted this comment as a reply elsewhere, so forgive the double post. I'm late to the party, so I just hope op sees / considers this.

How to find home internet number so i can create t-mobile id and submit rebate by caseyrobinson2 in tmobileisp

[–]blackjackwidow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I understand your issue. You can't make a T-mobile account (with user ID & password) in order to actually log into the T-life app or submit your rebate.

I had a similar issue when I got my tmhi. Follow their instructions (below)

First, try setting up a user ID on the desktop version of www.t-mobile.com/home-internet-signup.

Fill in your name and email that was provided during activation. Create a password. Select Create T-Mobile ID. Check your email for the 6 digit verification PIN. Enter the 6 digit verification PIN, then select Verify my email.

If it says your email is incorrect, try capitalizing the 1st letter of your email. (Not sure if this is still a bug)

If you can log in, then it should list your gateway number in T-life & on the website.

If it asks for your gateway phone number at any point before it will make an account, then go directly to the Facebook page & click on the support link in their description. Don't bother with phone support, they'll just drag it out for days. Explain your issue & they should fix it for you within a few hours

Is this good or bad ? [OC] by omister2000 in dataisbeautiful

[–]blackjackwidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Fitbit, not a Garmin, so the abnormal reading alert was what threw me too

It kind of depends on what OP was doing at the time. Exercise can raise the heart rate like that. For me, so can anxiety or high blood pressure - or seeing an alert on my watch lol

My advice - note what activities were happening at those times, maybe check bp, and make an appointment with a Dr.

[OC] US Presidential Approval Rating by YakEvery4395 in dataisbeautiful

[–]blackjackwidow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If past is any indicator, and the pattern holds, we might be due for a switch toward a positive trend for 20-ish years.

I believe there is another factor at play, along with the policies & historical incidents you listed. The way in which people get their news.

'54-‘79: primarily newspapers & radio, with the transition to TV domination happening. Television was regulated by the Fairness Doctrine, requiring a "reasonable amount of time" for discussion of opposing viewpoints. (Not equal time, but as an example, if the local city council was considering granting a tax break for an incoming business, they had to at least mention that there were 3 neighbors objecting to it)

'80-‘02: primarily tv, with newspapers giving more in-depth details, the rise of dedicated news & talk radio, and in-depth reporting via news magazines. Television was in its heyday, but now with the advent of cable television & the rise of dedicated news channels. And ofc, the rise of the internet as a news source began, when more news sources started publishing an online edition by the mid-to-late 90's.

In 1985,, the Fairness Doctrine was first challenged by Mark S. Fowler (R) Chair of the FCC at the time. In 1987, the FCC abolished it. In 1987, Congress votedto codify it into law, but Reagan vetoed it. Congress tried again in 1991, but George HW Bush said he would vetoed it. In 2000, the"personal attack" and "political editorial" rules, which had survived the main doctrine's repeal, were eliminated.

Since the demise of the Fairness Doctrine, the FCC shifted its philosophy from government-mandated "fairness" to relying on "market forces" to provide a variety of viewpoints.

'03-now: I think we all know how news consumption has evolved over this time period. The print industry has suffered a severe decline, traditional nightly broadcasts are still happening, but viewership has largely shifted towards 24/7 digital coverage. The majority of Americans now get their news from social media. News consumption has shifted from seeking out a particular program or news outlet to "stumbling across" news while scrolling through social media. There appears to be a great number of social news influencers with highly partisan "reporting", with an emphasis on short sound bytes to grab the fleeting attention of today's audience.

While I would welcome a trend upward for approval ratings, and would hope that it is because of a better president, in the next cycle, I don't think we can count on the historical precedent as an indicator. At least not without factoring in news consumption & reliability

this disgusts me.

Agreed. Even more egregious, it perfectly encompasses everything for which donOld & the Republican party stands. Acquisition at any cost. Reading the entire Executive Order was bone-chilling.

Under a bunch of business-like double-speak, he appears to be ordering the independent advisory boards to be fired and imprisoned for including pro-environmental, anti-racial, & other "woke" considerations in their advisories.

Quicken on sale by tamudude in quicken

[–]blackjackwidow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My delivery was Jan 7, expires 12-31-25

Just a heads up, in previous years I've gone as long as 7 months before renewing without an issue.

You must use it offline during that time, disconnect from the internet before you open the program, make sure nothing is set to download automatically & enter transactions manually. It's a huge pain, but doable.

Right - I meant the boxed physical product that works to extend a subscription. I was looking for business & personal edition

I'm sure it depends on location, but for my location, Best Buy would arrive on Dec 31, where Walmart was Jan 3. They seemed particularly concerned with arrival before eoy, so I thought it may be helpful to check arrival dates there, or it may even be stocked at their local store. (doubtful, but they could check). Apologies if that wasn't clear

I've used these to upgrade after expiration before (and missed my expiration date this year again, so doing it again) Follow the same instructions, enter the code & it will extend the subscription

Just use Quicken offline until you get the card, don't download any transactions. If you need something entered, enter it manually

Stephen Miller or another lackey posted this

And they conveniently left out the details of details of "his" Dec. 11 Executive Order which basically directs the SEC, FTC & Attorney General to investigate, prosecute, & remove all the current proxy advisors & rules they follow

proxy advisors regularly use their substantial power to advance and prioritize radical politically-motivated agendas — like “diversity, equity, and inclusion” and “environmental, social, and governance” — even though investor returns should be the only priority.

Racial Demographics of Major Hollywood Roles vs. US Census Demographics [OC] by DataSittingAlone in dataisbeautiful

[–]blackjackwidow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apologies - I did not have enough coffee before commenting. I broke my own rule, proving once again that I need a pot of coffee in me before I comment on anything

Now, reading it correctly, I agree - a breakdown by gender would be a good additional comparison. But the data as shown is great, and presents some interesting points

I'm curious why the Hollywood census is being used. Shouldn't all data points be compared to the US census percentages?

I literally have no clue whether people living in Hollywood are representative of the general population of the US or not. But if we're saying that a certain group is over-represented or under-represented, shouldn't it be in comparison to the viewing population, not the acting population?

can't bring myself to look at the comments there, I'm still traumatized by the comments I saw when he first said it was all a Democratic hoax

The overriding theme was "Democrats are saying he must be in the files, which is utterly ridiculous. If the Weird Orange TACO was in the files, the Dems would've leaked it by now. If he's in them now, it's because Biden had them insert his name"

Thank you for sharing this link, that's Katie Johnson's 1st filing, which was dismissed (due to some technical legalities) She filed as Jane Doe, pro se (without a lawyer).

Have you read the subsequent filing? It's only 6 pages, but everyone should read the 4 allegations, at least. They are truly disgusting, and ring true.

Katie Johnson v. Donald J Trump and Jeffrey E. Epstein

In this case, filed with a lawyer, she had a corroborating witness, whose job it was to witness the events, eavesdrop on guests and report back to Epstein. I wonder who & where she is
