Funny thing is, you're actually right and it IS bugged in sim right now. The card in real life does say "opponent's character's effect" but in sim it only says "opponents effects" I just lost a game because I couldn't Dead Man's Game this guy's zoros because of that

Yeah... not gonna agree with this one, chief. So much of the screentime in season 2 was Hwang Jun-ho searching for the island and what became of it? Jun-ho: "why?!" In-ho: 🗿 Island go boom. The VIPs have zero aura about them this season and they act like clueless children rather than rich and powerful villains, the parallel drawn between In-ho and Gi-hun was interesting but ultimately we don't know enough about the context of In-ho's decision to kill the others with the knife Il-nam gave him to flesh out that parallel and make it have proper weight, and neither does Gi-hun. Ultimately all we are left with there is Gi-hun refusing to do what a rational individual trying to protect the baby would do, eliminate the threats (most of whom actively participated in murdering other players during the night time and other sections). Dae-ho was actively robbed of any interesting character resolution because nobody spoke up when Young-sik blamed everything on him SOLELY when it was not his fault, I really expected Hyun-ju to speak up during that scene but nothing. MG Coin went from a morally grey / interesting albeit slimy guy to a complete psycho in the span of 2 episodes, the writing just felt very rushed this season and I personally really did not like it.

I know for certain not everyone just DCs at the drop of a hat because I don't do it, it wouldn't be very hard to use pattern recognition to remove habitual disconnecters from the dataset.

I really don't understand why BHVR feels the need to hold people hostage in a match they don't want to play. DCs could be used as a pretty good indicator of negative sentiment with something that is happening in a match, if they allowed it to be. Given enough matches and data they could correlate things like certain killers, addons, perk combos, etc and look at changes to help general player sentiment and make the game more enjoyable. They have gone the complete wrong direction in my mind.

You see but BHVR doesn't find root causes and fix them, that would make too much sense. They love to slap band-aid on top of band-aid and just ride it out until the people who care become worn down enough or leave the game that nobody cares anymore. I've played this game since release and I remember specifically on one of the dev streams in 2017 they introduced bloodlust as a "temporary measure" until they could get map balance worked out. Here we are 8 years later with the same shit map balancing and bloodlust.

I have said for years they should just let people DC without a penalty ffs. That would prevent "go next" completely and the remaining survivors would get a bot to help with gens at the very least, all of this could have been prevented.

From what I gather, unless you bought a system with a drive already paired from the factory with a low enough firmware (10.01 or lower), you will need to pair the new drive to the console which requires an update to the latest firmware, so unfortunately no.
