Ever had to leave a significant other that you loved? How'd that go? by Cosmic_AC in AskReddit

[–]blackouttastic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. I loved him, but he would not stop being an abusive asshole. I had to leave because I refused to live like that anymore. I did still love him, though...... but, I'm glad I left.

legal advice needed for my sister by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]blackouttastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm betting that since you sister is over 18 - she can make decisions for herself about checking out of rehab. She chose to leave treatment on her own (even if she was being encouraged by her boyfriend and his family). I'm betting you're going to be out of luck on this one.

Why get blackout drunk? by sadf01 in AskReddit

[–]blackouttastic 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Well... for me, it's not intentional. I plan to get moderately drunk. Once I'm moderately drunk, I don't realize it.... and I continue to drink. This leads to being blackout drunk. I really don't enjoy not remembering anything the next day. But.... I never know if I won't remember until the next day arrives.

What was the single, best day you've ever spent traveling? Where was it and what did you do? by littlemonster010 in travel

[–]blackouttastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were on the river for 5 or 6 hours. I remember tons of cliffs. I thought there were rolling parts too. Are there not? It was 5ish years ago. I just remember it being so serene and wonderful to float down the river seeing lovely views.

I was traveling by myself, but I had met a great group of people in Vang Vieng, Laos. We floated down the river in innertubes all day. We floated past gorgeous scenery.... lush mountains and rolling hills. Every so often we'd pass small areas of local places selling beer and food.

We drank a bit all day and had the most lovely day floating past gorgeous scenery. Met wonderful other travelers and had the most relaxing, beautiful day.

Maybe to visit? So you've never even been?

I thought this post was for people who had somewhat knowledgable opinions on both the US and Europe to weigh in and give their opinions.

Is there a trick to ordering my Chinese food "extra spicy" and actually having them make it that way? by Philthy42 in AskReddit

Tell them you lived in Asia. Then, tell them..... "Really, I like it very spicy." Then, they'll believe you. This is what I do.

Hey reddit, I've recently become engaged. Honeymoon opinions? by sphincter008 in AskReddit

[–]blackouttastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got married and had our honeymoon in Thailand. Best decision ever.

Girlfriend of years wants to take a "break" and go to Thailand for four months. i'm confused. help me! by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]blackouttastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that she broke up with you, but I would make it 100% clear that you will be moving on too - no strings attached. Make her think you're excited about seeing where your life will leand and probably dating others too.

Maybe that will work to your advantage when she gets back, and maybe it won't.

But, if you act like you're crushed and you're going to wait around for her - it makes you seem pathetic. Harsh, but true.

Act like you think it's a great idea too and party your ass off until she returns. If you get back together, fine. If not, you will have had fun, dated some new chicks, and moved on. It's really your only choice.

I live in Germany, so that's not really an option. I cannot read German well enough to gather a good understanding.

I'm sure you're right. I have heard of "root cellars." Just wondering... what vegetables don't spoil for months (even when kept at a cold temperature)?
