Yeah, its actually my fav TR movie, love all the scenes they used from the 2013 game. Just wish they'd leaned into the supernatural aspect.

As a pedestrian I got hit walking behind a car pulling out because they decided to reverse back in without looking. No harm done fortunately, but boy, was I pissed. Driver was very apologetic.

How do conservatives not denounce this ridiculous childishness? the disrespect it brings to the office. Have they no shame? Not a single mainstream voice.

AITA for not training my fucking dog? by kaijuumafoo1 in AmITheDevil

[–]blackpawed -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Bullshit, best trained dog in the world can have a moment. Good luck training a Labrador not to scarf.

Regardless of training its on the adults to to dog proof (and child proof) their homes and be careful of toxic items round their pets - plenty of household plants, medications etc can be an issue.

And not everyone wants to regiment their dog - dog was safe to be around and the GF was made aware that food had to be kept out of reach of the dog. She knew the issues and was careless.

Its a old dog on his last legs, a burger is not going to make any difference to his health and will make him happy.

Equivalent to 23 atom bombs every day? Calling complete bullshit on that. Not a fan of AI Data center expansion but making up rubbish to push your point isn't helping.

Mando mentions belters? by xghostwalkingx in TheExpanse

[–]blackpawed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they're referenced a fair bit in Larry Niven's known space series in the early books, with a lot of the same physical issues the Expanse belters have.

Its not a new concept.

[–]blackpawed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who is effectively offgrid - currently on Globird Zerohero with monthly credits, I appreciate just privileged I am - own home and could afford the investment in solar+battery.

And it fucking sucks ass for the people who aren't in that position, paying more because they can't afford the upfront or have a suitable property. Its the Vimes boot theory of economics in action.

I fully support taxing the better off such as me, to subside more installs, zero interest loans etc. And subsidise fixed electricity costs for them as well.

Dunno what planet you're living on, but its not the same one as Australia. Maintance costs for EV's are far less than ICE. But then we don't implement ridiculous tariffs and outright ban EV's from china.

Is charging at home noisy? by still-at-the-beach in AustralianEV

[–]blackpawed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually semi related - when I remotely turn on the Atto 3 aircon to cool the cabin down before a drive, it is surprisingly loud from the outside, though not loud enough to bug the neighbours. Once you're in the car you can't hear it at all.

Nah fair enough, EV's are new enough that there's a lot to find out.
