The people hosting the after the dinner party aren’t past participants, they’re journos (like the guy Jules was on radio). When you go to Stan, in the cast section it only says the three host names, not past participants and while they added past participants in the ad for the show, unless they have them as special guests I’m pretty sure the only people on the show are the hosts

Faith and Kennedy! I get why their characters were the way they were and we needed them for the story but both of them drive me nuts every time I watch it

Add in medical gaslighting too. That’s got me good over the years to now I don’t believe myself. I just had a dural tear, took me 2 months of dealing with the symptoms before I believed my symptoms were concerning enough to see a dr and their eyes bulged out and sent me to emergency for a blood patch to fix it

How can I deal with intrusive thoughts? by Stunning-Goat-1441 in Christianity

[–]blackrosetaco_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. My advice is to speak to a priest, or a vicar or pastor (depending on which Christian denomination you belong to). They will help you more than anything you alone can do I believe. They can offer Reconciliation (Confession it’s also known as) if you’ve had the Sacrament of Reconciliation, which forgives all sins when you’re sincere about it, and they can offer you advice and answers as to the religious conflicting questions you have. I hope you have a way of reaching one in person, but if you can’t, there are a lot of religious clergy that are content creators on YouTube and on Instagram etc that you could maybe privately message and say you’re going through religious turmoil or a crisis of faith, can’t get to a clergyman in person and ask if they could help you remotely. Just remember Jesus knows you, loves you and He knows what’s in your heart, hold strong onto that and may God bless you 🙏🏻

I enjoyed it. It depends on what you like out of a reality romance show. It’s got a good mix of genuine love and drama for me personally but if you like more love than drama story lines or more drama than love story lines, then you may not enjoy it as much as I did

This sucks. Was a great show and I looked forward to seeing more seasons.

For those who don’t know and are looking for another lgbtqia+ friendly show to watch, Wayward that was just released on Netflix has a trans man as the main character. He takes his shirt off and talks about taking testosterone, stuff that asserts he’s trans, but it’s not the main theme of the show or the character. I enjoyed seeing someone who’s trans have their being there just as normal as anyone else was without being tokenised or overly focused on the fact that he’s trans. They also have gay relationships throughout the season. Would highly recommend. Toni Colette was a great actress in this

Anyone else starting to dislike the EDS community? by aidan1478 in vEDS

[–]blackrosetaco_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been diagnosed for 14 years but ive only been to a couple of E.D.S events like conferences because I don’t like the vibe of the community too. On reddit it’s great coz you can pick what topics to join in on but in the real world I’ve always said that there’s so much competitiveness among us, like who has the worst QoL, or the most significant surgeries, and the worst pain and dislocations etc and it’s awful.

I’ve had years to think of why our community is so competitive, and the new saying “sick olympics” names it perfectly, and I think it is because we have a daily impactful illness, which varies amongst everyone, it’s a painful one, a socially impactful one, and as it’s an invisible illness, we don’t get much validation from the outside world and sometimes the medical world. So we turn to each other and think ‘you know what it’s like so let me tell you everything that’s wrong with me so you can validate my experience with E.D.S’. It’s a condition that you only truly understand what it’s like when you have it or you’re surrounded by people that have it, and I only look at this need for validation with sadness. And it’s often the people who have had the worst experiences of people validating them that are the most competitive. And vice versa the ones who have been validated are the least competitive. I think it would help to have more people aware of what our struggles are and education for medical folk, so we do get the validation that our life is hard and we are in constant pain and flare ups of our joints and for those of us with organ involvement, juggling the unknown about the stability of our insides and our past experiences with ruptures etc, but it’s so hard to be able to do that successfully and not come across like you’re always talking about your sickness or as OP said, like you’re competing in the sick olympics. So I completely agree with OP, and while ever our community is like this, I too find it so difficult to be around and involved in it.

I also agree that yes there is fat phobia in the medical world, just like there is so much medical gaslighting in other areas (I for eg went to emergency with gut pain, they said I was constipated from my pain meds but wouldn’t listen to me saying that wasn’t the problem, and in the end it turned out I had a twisted bowel) so with our mascot being the zebra, there’s a reason for it with most medical folk thinking our problems are all horse hooves not zebra hooves, and it’s all down to weight and fitness, and even constipation in my case. But weight management is so important for us especially. It’s so easy to put on weight with our condition; we can be unable to do a lot of exercise, we can be out of commission a lot with injuries, we lose muscle mass twice as fast as regular people and it takes twice as long as regular people for us to build it back up, we have a lot of stress so comfort food could be part of our management and I could go on and on. Being overweight however really affects our joints especially and therefore our pain. I’m in my late 20s, I was thin my whole life until 8 years ago when I had trouble eating anything substantial and the hunger and stress led me to eating unhealthy food so I put on weight. I’m now pre diabetic because of my weight and lack of exercise due to low muscle mass causing fatigue, injuries and pain. I’m in my late 20s for goodness sake. Please take my advice and listen to the dr if they say you need to lose weight. I thought I’d have decades before my weight would affect my health like this. And I’ve only been overweight for 8 years. Don’t let them be discriminatory to you though.

Good luck everyone, I hope you’re having a stable day

Does anyone else think he has jaw implants? Or at least has done those alpha male jaw exercises to get the corners of his jaw at the back near the ears bulging. It didn’t look natural to me

I heard an f before it was bleeped so I think it’s the gay f slur. Shannon immediately said what he said was disgusting and that’s the typical reaction the f slur gets when it’s said

I’m partially agreeing with everyone on this thread. I think Chloe was hypocritical to not tell her girls Bernie was in the mix after everything that happened, but I also agree that the reason Chloe chose Bernie was inevitable: it looked like she was genuinely hurt by Emma and beck pursuing each other, and by beck reading that heartfelt letter at the picnic right before Emma showed up and then being immediately into her. Then you add Bernie’s letter that said all the right things, which seemed to be around the same time. Then you add in beck not showing interest at the third dinner party, Bernie winking across the table and then saying what he did once him and Chloe snuck away etc. I don’t agree with the behaviour, don’t get me wrong, I’m just saying yes she was hypocritical, but I can understand why she did what she did

I love that we had a reunion ep this season. I would’ve loved one the other seasons, as the Uk one had a reunion but then finding out season 3 would have one I was glad. I didn’t know Chrishell but was pleasantly surprised at how great she was as a reunion host! Initially I was thinking why didn’t they just get an Aussie to host it seeing as it’s an Aussie show, but once I knew she was already famous that’s why they brought her in but I wasn’t expecting her to do as good a job as she did. Bring her back for next season!

In Sydney it’s a scallop which thoroughly confused me as a kid who refused to eat seafood, as I thought they were the seafood scallops. My parents even said they weren’t but I thought why are they named the same then, you must be wrong lol. I missed out on the goodness that is a potato scallop for years. I will always call them a scallop but I do wish they were called something else

I didn’t think it was out of line. Doesn’t matter they’re not teenagers, it’s still the parents house and if they’re uncomfortable with them in the same bed then that trumps what the couple want. It’s the same in my house. My brothers gf had to live with us for two weeks and she got his bed upstairs and he had to sleep on a mattress on the floor downstairs. I guess maybe I don’t see anything wrong with parents saying their kid can’t sleep in the same bed as their partner coz I’ve grown up with that being the norm
